i really dont llike skirmish i think it would be cool in space if only 1 side could have a space station and the other be able to bring in large factory ships that could produce small ships and small construction ships that can buildconstruction pads that can produce capital ships

All factions will be getting shipyards. Not in the minimod. Starbases in their current form will stay in the game for the purpose of buying the shipyards and heroes.

what game modes will shipyards be in, where/how can they be built, and what units will be buildable from them ?

We will not be doing company shipyards, so you will have different shipyards for the different ship sizes. This'll be done in both skirmish and Galactic Conquest. Though in Galactic Conquest you won't have access to every ship at every planet like you do now (with the exception of capital ships).

Repends on the factions and shipyards.

So not every planet can produce fighters, frigates and corvettes. That's great. You have to think strategically to protect major production facilities to all classes.

thats great, it adds more strategy to the gameplay (what planets to aim for, defend, etc) and reduces that issue of running out of build space on the UI on many planets

Before only planets worth taking and protecting were those that either could produce capital ships or had increased income. Now it is changed

It also means different planets have different importance for different factions. So a planet may be more or less useless to you, but you may want to hold it solely because it is critical to the opponent.

such as Mon Cal and Fresia for the Rebels and Kuat and Fondor for the Empire ?

CAn you tell how many shipyard planets there will be. And how many of each class meaning whic produce fighters and which capital ships.

Of course it is. It was the only major shipyard in Imperial Remnant

In Skirmish, will the Shipyards be built from the satellites (like laser and missile turrets currently) ?
In GC, how will the Shipyards be built, will they be an option like the Gravity Well Generator (Empire) and Long Range Scanners (Rebels) ? If so, how many different types will there be in-game (since there are only 2 slots at each planet) ?
Will all the Shipyards be available at all planets or will they be restricted to certain planets, or tied to specific Space Base level ?

the ship yard as a seperate space station that produces different ships was z3r0x's idea, the buy an arc hammer factory ship to preduce ships was ultimate empire at war's idea. ::)

Arc Hammer as a production thing was actually Dark Force's idea, and we've had shipyards & companies planned since before Z3r0x did (Though we've dropped companies), and the idea of shipyards & companies wasn't made up by him, or us either. Shipyards have been major part of Star Wars since at least the Thrawn trilogy. Hell, the first model this mod had (Unless you count the TIE Interceptor that we replaced) was the Rendili Stardrives shipyard model.

wait so the shipyards, will they be like in steiners where you can build corellian, hapan and chiss shipyards, in addition to the fighter medium and capital shipyards, or will it be only the regular shipyards no special ones?

What mod is that?

There are four types of orbital shipyards:
Light Frigate: (Corvettes and Immobilizer size/strength) These are buildable on every planet.
Heavy Frigate: (Chaf Destroyers, VSDs, Dreadnaughts, etc.) Buildable on most planets, but there are a few they aren't buildable on.
Capital: (MC80, ISD, etc.) Buildable on very few planets. (Syca, Kuat, Fondor, Corellia, Sullust- every planet thats noted as a shipyard planet)
Heavy Capital (Rebellion doesn't have this type): (Tector, Phalanx, Executor) buildable on Syca, Mon Calamari, Kuat and Fondor.
Fighters are produced with factories on the ground.
However, some locations are faction specirfic. For example, Syca can only get a capital/Heavy Capital shipyard if you're the Empire of the Hand, Mon Calamari is useful only to the Rebellion and Empire, but the Rebellion completely relies on Mon Calamari for their MC cruisers.
There will not be special shipyards on Hapes(Not even in R1) or Corellia or anywhere that allows production of ships that are used by the natives unless that faction actually used those ships (Ala Mon Calamari).

That would be because we made it up. It's the Empire of the Hand's equivalant of Kuat, really.

yep. I mean they didn't have any mentioned shipyard above Nirauan or did they? And they would need a one.

Nirauan wasn't a shipyard planet, it was meant to be inconspicuous.

Well, the empire of the Hand included 250 sectors, which is 12,500 star system, and assuming each system had at least one habitable planet, thats at least 12,500 planets. We only know the name of two. Kariek, and Nirauan.

And it doesnt have to be habitable to have a shipyard

Not really. No matter what it is, mapping is really hard and long.
