The companies were intentionally left out of Lite. As for the Heavy Frigate shipyards, they seem to have broken again somehow... I'm trying to fix it.
Might I ask why the companies were left out of Lite? Was it a debugging choice?

It's partially to do with the size of the GC map and planets chosen for it. In that GC they ended up seeming less like bonuses and more like permanent reductions when everything was said and done. It's open to change, as everything else is though.

That's understandable, but I like playing AoW lite as the full AoW tends to slow down my galactic map. On the flip side, I noticed that in Camaas Crisis, Syca has the engineering company. So was that intentional? Cause that GC has even fewer planets...

It's more to do with the planets chosen, proportions and expected length of the GC. Caamas is generally meant to be a bit faster paced than Art of War Lite is, basically.
