I have to agree with the answer Yoda because what is cooler than seeing a little green dude doing flips and combat moves with a lightsaber?

Jorus C'Baoth..Mostly because he didn't care for the ideals of the order.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on May 27, 2007, 02:21:19 AM
But he was quite cocky and arrongant. He thought that non-jedi should serve jedi.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi

well really those are the thoughts of the sith
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on May 27, 2007, 12:45:12 PM
But he was quite cocky and arrongant. He thought that non-jedi should serve jedi.

And what Jedi wasn't? If you look at the start of the Clone Wars it was the Jedi who were so full of themselves, Saying that it was basically their down fall in the end. Their ideals for peace and the order blinded them from what our favourite Sith was doing right under their noses.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on May 27, 2007, 12:50:31 PM
I wouldn't say Yoda or Obi-Wan was cocky
Title: Re: Favourite jedi

mace windu maybe
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on May 27, 2007, 04:32:37 PM
They both were cocky, and arrogant for example when Obi-Wan and Anakin landed on the invisible hand once they sensed Count Dooku Obi-Wan said "We spring the trap." That is a bit cocky if you ask me. Yoda was cocky for sending Obi-Wan off to kill Darth Vader at mustafar. When clearly since Darth Sidious was on Coruscant. It was clear then Yoda overestimated himself there.

does it have to be a jedi?, because i would say Revan, but hes a sith, but of the "jedis" i would say Yoda

Revan was a jedi.

Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on May 30, 2007, 01:19:53 PM
???  How can you be dissapointed!!!

An RPG game in my theory would be like FF7/FF8. KOTR wouldn't even been classified as a RPG by those standards.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi

what are FF7/FF8?
Title: Re: Favourite jedi

It's an abbreviation for Final Fantasy.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi

I have never played and will not ever play Final Fantasy!!!!!!!!
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 01, 2007, 08:32:38 AM
I think another possible Jedi I favoured has to be Mace Windu. I mean anyone who could take out a CIS seismic tank with his bare hands is cool in my book.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 01, 2007, 10:54:32 AM
not even a jedi could destroy tank with his bare hands
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Dr-Ludvig on June 01, 2007, 04:31:16 PM
well maybe not with his hands, but he could just throw a big rock at it.... lol

Title: Re: Favourite jedi

Yeah that is what I was going by, And he even stated it in a book I read.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Dr. Knickers on June 01, 2007, 11:41:43 PM
Well in the Dark Nest books, Luke crushed a lightsaber crystal with his hands
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 02, 2007, 02:34:41 AM
I still don't believe that with their bare hands. maybe with force but hands no
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 02, 2007, 04:59:40 AM
it depends if we mean physically destroying things with their hands, or whether we mean using their hands to manipulate the Force in order to destroy things - the lightsaber crystal mentioned i could see Luke physically destroying, but Mace and the tank i think has to have been force manipulation
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 02, 2007, 05:25:03 AM
Now that is something I can believe
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 02, 2007, 08:31:29 AM
He was punching battle droids, and destroying them with his bare hands as well...He took out a whole legion doing that.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi

It was in the Clone Wars Cartoon mini series.

The Best Jedi Has To Be Qui-Gon Jin  ::)

damn somebody teach this new kid a lesson about cool jedi
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 04, 2007, 11:29:55 AM
everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and Qui Gon is certainly better than a lot of other jedi
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 04, 2007, 11:33:59 AM
True, Indeed Qui-Gon Jin held much to his own opinion...Kinda like Jours C'Baoth...Which is cool in my book.   :D
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 05, 2007, 02:17:45 AM
Qui-Gon Jin was better and greater jedi than C'Baoth or Windu.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 05, 2007, 03:54:04 AM
better than C'Boath certainly, but i think that Windu is more powerful than Qui-Gon, certainly in terms of skill with a lightsaber - although it may be that Qui-Gon is more experienced in the power and ways of the force
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 05, 2007, 04:22:43 AM
exactly
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 05, 2007, 09:36:20 AM
better than C'Boath certainly, but i think that Windu is more powerful than Qui-Gon, certainly in terms of skill with a lightsaber - although it may be that Qui-Gon is more experienced in the power and ways of the force

I would beg to differ, Going on with what Jorus did in the Outbound Flight. I'm sure it will take an huge amount of knowledge of the force to use the Jedi meld technique.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 05, 2007, 09:38:23 AM
and what about Qui-Gon 'visiting' Yoda after his death, im sure that would also require a great deal of knowledge and power in the Force to do that
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 05, 2007, 09:42:34 AM
Agreed, But many of a jedi has done that, Only few ever have achieve the Jedi Meld technique.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 05, 2007, 09:46:09 AM
is that only a few have achieved it or only a few have attempted it ?
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 05, 2007, 09:52:25 AM
I would assume achieved, Due to the fact if done or carelessly wrong can lead into the Dark Side of the force.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 05, 2007, 12:16:39 PM
But didn't Anakin use it aboard Outbound Flight. or at least he felt it.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 06, 2007, 08:49:20 AM
I don't recall Anakin ever being included into the Jedi Meld, Although Jorus did practice it time from time.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 06, 2007, 08:51:59 AM
no, Anakin didnt join with the Jedi Meld, but he was in a position to feel its presence.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 06, 2007, 09:09:53 AM
Thought as much, Anakin's head probably would have exploded...I just kid, He would go running back to Palpatine.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 06, 2007, 09:38:29 AM
Anakin was the most powerful jedi in the history.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 06, 2007, 09:39:47 AM
I thought that title was given to Luke?
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 06, 2007, 09:41:16 AM
no. He was an offspring of the most powerful jedi.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 06, 2007, 10:01:01 AM
so was it Anakin most powerful of the Old Jedi Order (followed by Yoda ?) and Luke as the most powerful of the New Jedi Order ?
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 06, 2007, 10:46:49 AM
See I always thought Luke was "The" most powerful Jedi ever, Which in turn would have been followed by Anakin Solo. Luke was ranked higher than Yoda, Or previous Masters. Anakin Skywalker served his destiny by bringing balance to the force. I don't recall it ever stating he would be the most powerful Jedi.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 06, 2007, 12:03:25 PM
Anakin Skywalker's "father" was the Force so I think that makes him the most powerful
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 06, 2007, 01:14:47 PM
I beg to differ, I am a strong believer that Palpatine is Anakin's father. Hints the numerous quotes about influencing the Midi-chlorians to create life. That is all trivial, However it could have all been a ploy by our favourite Sith to wipe out the Jedi.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 06, 2007, 01:31:12 PM
Well even if Palpatine used midi-chlorians to create Anakin he still would be created by the Force.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 06, 2007, 01:51:02 PM
and whether or not Palpatine did influence the Midi-Chlorians doesnt matter - because in the event, Anakin is/was stronger than any other Jedi/Sith of the time
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 06, 2007, 02:09:00 PM
my point exactly.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 06, 2007, 02:25:51 PM
That is all trivial, Because no one can prove Anakin is/was the most powerful Jedi. There are just too many facts leading against it. For instance how Dooku, and Obi-Wan managed to beat him.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 06, 2007, 02:30:47 PM
when did Dooku beat him ??

and Obi-Wan won because Anakin's anger (at Obi-Wan and the Jedi in general) and fear (for Padme) distracted him
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Zeron on June 06, 2007, 02:38:02 PM
He lost both because he was going against Jedi Masters/Former Jedi Masters, while he was still but a k=Knight.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 06, 2007, 02:40:00 PM
but when did Dooku defeat him ?? or are you meaning the fight at the end of EpII, because if you are, Anakinwas far stronger (and proved it) when he fought (and won) on the Invisible hand

i wonder how Anakin would have fared against Yoda :P
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 06, 2007, 02:48:14 PM
In Episode III Yoda would have owned Anakin..3-4 years time. It would have been the other way around.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 06, 2007, 03:09:00 PM
Even the most stronger can't always win if your opponent is more experienced.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 06, 2007, 03:48:22 PM
True, Darth Vader relied on brute strength, and he seemed to dominate all who opposed him. It was in the Book "Dark Lord, The Rise Of Dark Vader." When he first battle former Jedi Knights. It stated in the book blocking a saber swing from him was enough to make the light saber your holding come lose of your grip. From the shear brute strength.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Meyer on June 06, 2007, 03:51:52 PM
I meant stronger in Force. well physical strenght counts too
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 06, 2007, 07:32:06 PM
Either way everything from brawns to brains matters in a fight...Darth Vader was naturally gifted at both.

Title: Re: Favourite jedi

he was a powerful Jedi, but that power was not exhibited in such a way as to prevent him from falling to the Dark Side
Title: Re: Favourite jedi

ah but he concentrated more on his fighting techniqes then
Title: Re: Favourite jedi

he was young
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Kratas on June 07, 2007, 02:21:22 PM
what exactly do you mean by that
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 07, 2007, 03:03:54 PM
he was younger, therefore had more physical strength and agility than his opponents, while also being less experienced and attuned with the Force
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 07, 2007, 04:15:49 PM

Despite Plo Koon appearing to have died in his starfighter during Revenge of the Sith, an image which appears in Ultimate Missions: Clone Strike which was released shortly before the film shows a Kel Dor Jedi with blue lightsaber walking away from a starfighter which looks exactly the same as Plo Koon's. While this Jedi was not named, it is possible due to the fact that he has the same lightsaber and starfighter as Koon that it is in fact the same character. In addition to this, the image was not given in any context and so it is unclear whether this is Koon walking from his starfighter when it was damaged during the film, or a previous battle.

"was released shortly before the film"
So it doesn't mean he survived because he is in picture. And look at this picture:

Jedi have exceptionally fast reflexes, it is not beyond the scope of possibility for him to have escaped, then when the Clones went to check they could neither confirm nor deny his death, since there would be no evidence either way - and propaganda would ensure that they announced him as dead.

no, that was one of two possible death scenes for her in Episode 3, but they were both deleted

apparently Grevous only 'subdued' her on Coruscant while chasing Palpatine and nicked her lightsaber - Mace saved her from dying

Jorus was a Jedi and he used to too, So maybe the Jedi know it they just never use it.

Title: Re: Favourite jedi

Did Kyle Katarn say something on the lines of "It's the the abilities of the force that make you turn to the darkside, It's how you use them."
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 22, 2007, 12:15:57 PM
most Force powers have no inherent light/dark influence, it is the motivation behind their use that determines that.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: GrndAdmrlPellaeon on June 22, 2007, 12:19:08 PM
i guess so but choking is a very aggresive form of usage of the force
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 22, 2007, 12:24:04 PM
yes, it is quite aggressive, but so are a lot of other Force powers - influencing another sentient's mind is aggressive.  And in the case of Force Choke, the strength of the choking could be a factor affecting whether it is a 'dark' power - compressing the throat temporarily is not the same as throttling the person to death.

But Jorus used Force Crush to stop that missile, And Mace Windu used it against Grievous.

Crushing an inanimate object isnt the same thing as choking a living creature.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 22, 2007, 01:15:23 PM
But isn't everything in the force a living object?
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 22, 2007, 01:17:27 PM
i was under the impression that while everything leaves its trace in the Force, inanimate objects are just 'there' - isnt that partly why Joruus C'boath (the mad clone version) didnt like R2 ?
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 22, 2007, 01:21:47 PM
If it wasn't part of the force when Jedi wouldn't be able to lift it and such.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Slornie on June 22, 2007, 01:24:13 PM
i didnt say the werent part of the Force, i said they only leave a trace, rather than a 'presence' (for want of a better word).
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: Wal-Mart Shoplifter on June 22, 2007, 01:25:32 PM
So then what the better the object is the bigger impression on the force it makes, Cause in retro spec most metal is made from refine material.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi

Call me a skeptic but I do believe that had to coexist into the force, And the force is a living thing, So that would be anything inside the force living.
Title: Re: Favourite jedi
Post by: GrndAdmrlPellaeon on June 22, 2007, 04:35:49 PM
but the force has sentient beings not living ones

They are all the same when it comes to the force, Species, Race..It matters not The force is a supposed building block of the whole galaxy, It binds everything together.
