There's a significant difference between reskinning infantry and making new ones.

I'm in it for the long haul, still actively troubleshooting weighting issues and what not with a few re-rigs. I know this'll be a long and tedious process, but I'm down to try. I know that the quality won't match that of the official team, but I intend to get them out. Realistically I'm attempting to attach new heads to existing rigged bodies, and possibly doing new UV maps so that I can have a bit more freedom in certain reskins. Once again I'm still very new and will take considerable time.

Be that as it may we feel reasonably confident.
Worst case we have less than the full set. Also apologies for posting in the wrong area, I guess we will need to move the topic to avoid confusion.

In that case it's in the wrong subforum. I'm also not sure where you're going to get those models, either.
We have Delta to thank for that  ;)

In that case it's in the wrong subforum; there's a reason that there's a subforum specifically for this. We don't want people to confuse your answers to stuff with what's actually in ICW when they ask a question or read stuff on the forums or in the chat box. I'm also not sure where you're going to get those models, either.

I never expected it to be in main game Corry, it's an idea I pitched for the sub mod.

I've addressed this before. The only ones we're doing are Sariss and potentially Yun, depending on how well I can make his model work. First off, you can't actually differentiate them that much; you'd just be left with 7 or 8 effectively identical heroes and the PA would just be a dark jedi spam session, hero-wise. Seriously, that would put them ahead of the New Republic who only have Cilghal, Luke, Corran, Mara and Kyle accross all five eras. That is, a faction with actual connections to jedi who were actually alive during the mod. I'll remind you that the inclusion of Jerec isn't because the Seven Dark Jedi were part of the PA, and instead because of a very tangential connection between Kaine and Jerec because the PA needed at least something for ground heroes. I'm not stretching that to resurrect six more people and give them more than any other faction has. If we were being more strict with the timeline, Jerec would be dead before that start of almost every GC, and every other of the seven with him or even slightly before him as I recall.

I also really don't think you understand how much work would have to go into making new infantry models/animations for Gorc, Boc, Pic and Maw, especially with my skills at creating them being almost nonexistant in the first place. Especially if you want something like FoC Yoda. I could spend the rest of the year working on just this stuff, possibly not even finish it, and the result would still be bad. Yes, I added Sariss and potentially will be doing Yun, but those are able to be done based on modified versions of already existing models.

you all know my oppinion on this...
but just in case: Damn right! Xizer has a point in this.
It would make PA more diverse gameplay-wide, would expand the faction pretty nicely and would not be overpowered as Dark Jedis.
Their autoresolve stat is laughably high for their actual combat value.

Meh, they already get to build dark jedi's.  Those represent all the minor heroes that are nothing overly special.

While it would be nice to have more heroes for the PA, I don't see the time it would take to make the dark 7 worth their minor involvement with the PA overall.

I'd disagree, the addition of the 7 is more balanced and adds to gameplay. The generic DJ do not really add anything and are too easily replaced. They serve little practical use in combat save as scouts. These new heroes would change that up significantly.
The 7 offer new tactical options on ground that the generic ones simply cannot do(I.E threats to vehicles, sight ranges and buffs, while still being balanced with their individual strengths and weaknesses and catering to peoples love of heroes in a faction that could use a few more when compared to the NR, IR and EotH. In addition I want to move the generic DJ to the IR era 5 under Brakiss as it fits better with his Shadow Academy Dark Jedi.

How could I not be in favor of adding Gamorrean darksiders to a Corporate Fascist faction? It would be glorious.

As some of you who have known me on the forums for the past eight years might be aware of, I found this mod while looking for a mod that had Jerec in it(and also voice him ingame)
Seeing Sariss in the last preview really reignited an old idea I had. I want to include Jerec's Dark Jedi from Dark Forces II-Boc, Maw, Gorc, Pic and Yun added to the PA hero roster in place of the generic Dark Jedi the PA have now. I would have the generic DJ moved to Brakiss in IR in era 5. Currently working with Delta, Kucsidave and Vulcanus on this.
My idea is for each of the Dark Jedi in Jerec's band to have specific strengths and weaknesses as well as being hero units so that they still have to be used strategically instead of being able to be replaced en masse with generic darksiders.
For instance Sariss, fitting with her role as the Prophetess gives a sight bonus to the worlds connected to the one she is above and has force sight on land as well as speed.
Boc is a combo of Gorc and Pic medium anti vic but with speed and stealth to deal with Inf too. Perhaps give him a bonus that boosts infantry effectiveness since he often worked with commandos.
Maw has Force sight and allows hero units to be seen on nearby worlds to show his Jedi Shadow past. Also is anti infantry but has higher movement speed for his hovering.
Gorc I want to be anti vehicle, slower, but very powerful and with Force crush, big health but slow.
Pic, I want to make similar to Yoda in the base game, small and fast but with low health, and Yoda's berserk slashing ability
Yun I want to be basic, just speed and a slight boost to troop skill as Jerec's soldiers worked better under him on Ruusan.

In this way each Dark Jedi brings a specific skill set to the table, but also specific weaknesses another player can exploit plus if they die you can't replace them so they are balanced out.
What do you all think?
