Yeah, I had Teradoc fall back with everything, so ended up jumping most of my fleet in behind him.  So his fleet was unable to knock out the shields of any ships while they were jumping in, and then he immediately got 2 ships blasted.  The CC's turned to fight while the ISD2 continued to run away.

For me, Teradoc split into three fleets. All the CCs and the ISD 2 split into 2 groups and pincered my fleet, while the other ships fell back to the Space Station.

He didn't defend the starbase when I attacked him, he sat and fought, so I didn't get his undefended backside.  Teradoc for me though ended up going down without much of a fight.  I lost very little in that battle.

THIS!

i never really understood why the AI insisted so hardly on defending the shipyards when they sometimes and have way superior fleet, not to mention its so dull to see ships floating towards shipyards instead of engaging you.

i would understand if they did this with golans or something, but this just seems bit over the top silly for exsample for praetor to move defend shipyards :l
I agree but protecting shipyards is importent why not change the ai so they send a small portion of their fleet to attack you with the rest at the shipyard.

Don't forget that in vanilla EAW/FoC the defending fleet was generally converging on a big, powerful Starbase rather than an unarmed shipyard.  The mod hasn't really touched the AI coding because it can get quite messy.

Delvardus was a joke

I actually started a new game of this last night.  Once you get Odik so you bring in the Knight Hammer, it gets fun.  Although fighting Delvardus to GET the Knight Hammer is...not.  Just takes FOREVER to build up your ground forces.  But once you get some XR-85's with Century Tanks, anything not flying is in for a very bad day.

Definitely loving the Crimson Commands.  Hate that they're so limited in quantities you can build, but with being able to build them, don't even miss being able to build ISD's.

Delvardus was a joke when I played. What I did was send a Defender squad in first and bee-lined to the shipyard. Delvardus in his tactical wisdom thought it appropriate to turn around and sit by the shipyards: leaving his undefended rear end perfectly targetable. He didn't get a single shot off at me (The starting fleet minus 3 Strikes, the Dreadnaught, and plus Pellaeon). Warped in behind him and tore him to pieces with Pellaeon's ability.

Now Teradoc was a completely different story...

Agreed.  ISDs are not units I'd build for this scenario.  Credits are far too precious until you have at least 5 planets.  I must say I love these small campaigns where an AI can actually beat me and I don't have to plan around the FREEZE.

Best part of it, almost no chance of a freeze...

Neat idea, be cool to do, but the mod team would never go for it because of that.

Wouldn'lt really fit with Canon though to my knowledge.  I don't know of them ever capturing a CC VSD-II, or having any of them defect to the NR.

Hmm. Maybe in the GCs when the NR conquers Hakassi, they can get a couple CC VSDs. Just a thought.

Bothan Cruisers... I really hate those things. Ugly and powerful enough to be a pain in large numbers, and they always in swarms because the ai spams them constantly. Now CC's are some of my favorite ships, I love building a huge fleet of 'em to escort the Knight Hammer and basically steamroll the NR in Reunification.
