Try to form a defensive perimeter, position your ISD II in kinda like a circle with support ships behind them, wait for them to reach you as this gives time for your fighters to spawn and assemble some defense, get some tie defenders and wait for the enemy fighters to engage yours as you will be using them to destroy any bombers that get close.
Iit would also help if you position a SSD laterally so that it has a broader range of fire but most of the time is better to use more destroyers and carriers than a SSD, lastly VSD I work amazingly well vs fighters with their concussion missiles.

Assuming they were the attackers,i would say its better to just hold your ground than rush head on into engagement with Empire of The Hands forces

>You can bait the enemy fleet to split their forces/pull their fighter screen off,by sending a small ship(Lancer/Carrack) or a fighter squadron to get their attention and drag them away

>Micromanage TIE interceptors against bombers before they have chance to get in range

>Focus your fire on Dagon Niriz(Imperial Star Destroyer),Stent(Ascendancy-Class star destroyer),Voss Parck(Victory Star destroyer) consider them as "soft" targets

>ArĀ“alani might look scary on her Syndic-Class Star Destroyer, but you should consider her as low priority target due to the ships incredible durability

>Bring enough Lancers to screen off any fighters/bombers that get too close, because when the main force connects you dont want to have bombers flying around freely

>I personaly prefer ISDs to SSDs,bringing 2 to 3 SSDs is overkill and not nessecarily in a good way

>Position your fleet with enough space to maneuver. if the Empire of the hand is focusing fire on single destroyer maneuver it to the back of the fleet
(forcing hand to go all out and possibly over extending)

simple tips/common knowledge.
would post more useful info if i had chance to properly test fleet compositions against Empire of the hand, but sadly work takes fair share of my time
edit:tlmiller being spot on with VSD-IIs and ISD-IIs being the top choices against this faction.

VSD-II's to be able to keep up with their ships and they're good against the frigates (except the Chaf which will rip through a VSD-II like tissue paper).  VSD-I's to help with fighters and also to spam missiles.  ISD-II's as heavy hitters.  Carracks as fast support that can deal with anything small.  And Lancers to kill their bombers before they chew your shields up like so much soft butter.

A single SSD is the MOST you want to bring in due to the fact that with 2 of them, you get 10 pop points and that's it for the rest of your fleet.  Simply not enough population to protect anything.  Although honestly, when dealing with EoTH, most of their ships are quick, so it's best to deal with them without any Executors.  You'll have losses, but it'll go much better.

Alright so the last time I played ICW it was still Era 1 ( I really don't like advancing eras simply due to the fact that with Thrawn I had no supers ) The Chiss Super-fleet (All the hero ships, capital ships, etc.) and so I had a fleet with about 2-3 SSDs ( I forget how many now) along with a large amount of Star destroyers and support ships. I sent in multiple fleet ships, etc. and 2 SSDs, they had similar ships. In the end I lost terribly (an entire SSD, Lusankya half destroyed, and multiple fleet ships destroyed. It made me ragequit my game.

So that leads me to my question though: even though my tactical skills were terrible in the battle, I would like to know: what is the BEST anti-Chiss fleet that would chew up their fleet and spit it out as a pile of blue goop. Especially a gathered up super fleet as previously stated. I'd like to know for each era as well.

Like this:

Era 1:
Era 2:
Era 3:
Era 4:
Era 5:

Thanks guys I'd really appreciate this!
