I liked the Vong War. What I meant was that there was no way to top that crisis, it had a great cathartic ending for all characters and should have been left that way. Bottom line was everything that could be done by then HAD been done and it was time to say farewell so they could live ever after.

Also yes, the Yevetha, SSi Ruuk, Duros, and Ithorians probably didn't find the war as enjoyable.

I stopped at the end of the Vong War. That was really the final straw.

At least it sure was for quite a few races and systems.

Meh to Legacy

I like the ships of the period, but I have to agree since by that point the poor citizens of the star wars galaxy could really use a break.

After this trilogy is out of the way and Disney have proved their credentials to handle the franchise, I would like to see them go back and make films covering the other major story arcs (e.g. Thrawn, Jedi Academy, etc) and character origin films (e.g. Han, Lando, etc).  Although that would require a recast, that doesn't preclude it being good and successful (e.g. James Bond, Batman, Star Trek have all had successful reboots with new actors playing the key roles).

Well, all they really need is some people whose faces look like theirs and Motion Capture them. By the time VII-IX are done, that field should be pretty well developed.

The Legacy comic series is set like 100 years after the latest series of books, right?
I think It takes place 138 ABY and a 100 years after the end of the vong war. But I do know that Lucasfilm and Dark Hourse are thinking of moving it up a bit so they have a bit more time with the big three in the books that and the fact that to keep with the ages of the Skywalkers in the series Ben would be needing to be having a kid soon when hes still in hi teens. Still not sure of how much of a time gap this new series will have from he end of the other.

The Legacy comic series is set like 100 years after the latest series of books, right?  With the distinct lack of major series set after FotJ (aside from the scattering of single story books), I wonder if we'll find that the new movie trilogy fills in some of that gap in canon.  That puts the original trilogy cast at around the right age, and allows Disney/Lucasfilm to bring in a whole host of other new characters to "carry the torch".

I know this is straying off topic, but I'd also like to add:

Wonder who's side of the family tree, Jacen's or Jaina's. I didn't follow Legacy too much (just not into the comics) but I wonder if Ep7/8/9 will make this all mute anyway. I guess we'll see

With continued publications, I really do wonder if we'll all have to wait until the movie comes out to see if extended universe stuff has any relevance.
