Yeah they are fun, the Ragnarov is just funny to watch as it kills everything. I kinda dislike how you're always getting Kodiak spam at your capital every time you take a planet though lol
I prefer getting free ships at my homeworld when I liberate a planet instead.

ITP : Thing's that won't be implemented in Ascendancy.

I personally really like the TEC Rebel faction.  Their Titan is pretty cool and it's nice not having to deal with pirate spam after a certain point.

Ah yes, the Vasari Rebels... they are fun to play as, but really overpowered :p. Still though that doesn't matter in single player.

I've been looking into it more, and now I am certain I will get this game (as soon as I get a Windows to run Steam on :)). I think the Vasari Rebels will be my faction to play as, since they adhere to my philosophy: After a time, you have to stop running and make a stand, or lose everything. Can't wait for more info on Ascendancy, if TR is any indication, it will be one sweet mod. I also hope that Ironclad does make a SoaSE 2, because whatever it is that is chasing the Vasari is coming, and it won't easily be stopped. It would probably be a four faction game with 1: a coalition of the TEC loyalists, Vasari Rebels, and Advent rebels; 2: Vasari loyalists; 3: TEC Rebels; 4: Advent Loyalists (the Rebels were right, there was something going on inside their organization) and their masters (whatever race brings the darkness). It also should have a campaign.

It's a hard copy, but I believe you still have to have the steam version of the game to register it, and it is really just for people who want the extra goodies that come with it, like the Kol Battleship model. Also, I'd like to add that the Steam client is free, and doesn't take that long to download, so don't worry about that if that is a barrier to playing a game you think you might like. You still have to pay for (most) games obviously though, since anything else would be piracy. Some people dislike that Steam collects information about you, but really that happens anywhere you go online these days, and its not like they steal your credit card info :p. Hell, that even happens offline, you'd be surprised to know what stores these days can figure out about you just from your purchasing habits...

Well that stinks. Don't have steam, so I probably won't end up getting it, then. What is the Collector's Edition?

Rebellion is not, no, well technically it is, but that is only the Collector's Edition and I think you need to actually have the game itself first. Everything pre-rebellion is, however. But Rebellion is basically all those games plus some other stuff. It is a steamworks game, which, whether you like steam or hate it, is the way it is.

Edit: Also, why are there two edit buttons now? It seems kind of random. Or has this always been this way and I just never noticed?

It is a good game, and it seems overwhelming at first, my advice is not to jump right into a huge map, start with something  small like a 1v1 and gradually work your way up.

All right, I will. This game is available as a hard copy, right?

Well yes, there are myriad factions in SWs, Empire, New Republic, EotH, Yevetha, Ssi Ruuk, Pentastar, Zsinj, Harrsk, Teradoc, Delvardus(the many other Warlords) Hapans, Hutts, other criminal syndicates, not to mention the later ones...

The Sins of a galactic empire mod looks like something I will definitely try in the future.
Are there plans for the new game also? They have 6 factions, that's maybe a bit to much for a star wars galaxy.
I watched an interview with one of the developers and he explained that they wanted the new game to 'look' like a big space battle scene you can see in the star war movies.

This might be old but : What? There are so many Factions within the Star Wars universe. Actually, there's more within Star Wars than there is in the Sins universe.
