You can use the Alamo Engine Particle editor, but fair warning, it can be a little complicated at first and what you're talking about is incredibly tedious.

Thank you for clarification Corey :)
Well 2.2 will come dont worry. But keep in mind that it will come when it is done. Not sooner. Just be patient.

That's because you can't actually change the size of particles (which all the turbo lasers are) via xml. You'd have to use the particle editor to manually change the size of each emitter for each particle.

Hmmm well I even reduced the sizes down to 0.00001, 0.00003, and 0.000015 in the XML files, and the particle sizes did not look any different to me.

Does you know the values needed to reduce the particles down to the size in Corey's youtube 2.2 play throughs?

(like this video)

Thanks

Well. It does in fact change. But the change is very small. If you make a ship fire both sizes next to each other you will see the difference.

I followed your directions exactly, and the increased speed part worked. For the particle size reduction however, it did not work. The particle sizes are the same (albeit much faster).

Any idea of what might have gone wrong?

Thanks,

I might as well write it down here for people to access.

To change the size and speed of the Projectiles, find the following xml files;
Masers.xml(also contains megamasers)
Lasers.xml
Ion Cannons.xml
Turbolasers.xml

In these, find all lines called scale factor(in Turbolasers, Ion Cannons, and Megamasers (in masers)) and change it from 1.0, 1.5, and 3.0 to 0.01, 0.015, and 0.03 respectively.

For speed, find the lines speed and change them from 45 to 90 (turbos, megamasers), 40 to 80 (ions) and 55 to 75 (lasers, masers). Dont make lasers and masers speed faster than 75 as tgat makes them rip through Fighters ridiculously fast due to not missing quite as much.

These changes are temporary to reduce the lag while we await 2.2 with patience.

Hello, I saw in the upcoming update that you are going to change the particle size by about 50 % smaller, is there anyway I can do tbis on my own, I just CANNOT wait for this, the overly large turbo laser and other space effects is what makes this mod somewhat unplayable for me atm.
