This actually has been discussed, and I BELIEVE there is someone working on creating it.  Look in the Imperial Civil War Community Mods subsection.

IMO, IR will be too powerful in an Era0 type scenario.

Anyway feasible way to make a kinda of merge of the original game, plus the inclusion some of the new and updated units and combat system? Have an era before the fall of DSII?
