Simply because Thrawn didn't use them, that's why they can't build them.

According to the 2.1 manual, the Executor can be built in Era's 1,4,5.

So why can't they be built in 2? I understand Thrawn didn't really use them but you'd think Thrawn's Empire would have the resources to produce such behemoths compared to the 8 sector Imperial Remnant with less than 250 Star Destroyers.

Huh... hadn't thought about it before, but EaW is probably one of the safest games to go afk in, since any attack against you will pause the game for the battle.

I'm currently playing the NR in Final Imperial Push on Captain Difficulty. I had solidified my territory pretty well, and my economy was growing and my borders were quite heavily fortified. Then I had to go afk, because I had dinner. I decided not to pause because when I came back, I knew I would have gained significantly in the economy. It was around week 350 when I returned. I had about 3 million credits by then. I doube checked my fortifications (no one attacked me while I was gone. EotH and IR were probably whacking away at each other. Then I resumed my offensive. By then, I already had my Viscount Star Defender.

It was some dozen weeks later that I discovered that the economy boost by my afking had consequences. The IR had already built 3 Executors. So this resulted in a very lengthy border war between the IR and NR where I strike at their planets and quickly retreat whenever they sent in an Executor (excet when they attacked on of my fortified planets, ha those Executors tremble before my ion cannon), at least until I had figured out the way to get the upper hand: blitz them. I attack unguarded planets and quickly took them and built up ion cannons and shipyards and golans. It worked. They got desperate and kept sending theirExecutors until I had killed 10 of them (I counted) by maneuvering my big guns into its large blind spot and shooting up its ass. And often times, it just fucking sat there. Haha, I was laughing with glee t how easy the AI made this.

I didn't think Era 5 IR could build SSDs

a good word of advice:
If you see Jerec in a fleet, then press autoresolve.
Jerec's autoresolve stats sucks, and can be killed with the smallest fleets.
Otherwise, I usually stomp on Admiral AI too.
Maybe I spent too much time playing this game...

It's a normal day in Coruscant. Remnant didnt utterly frack up, and they own all of the Core and are encroaching on the Mid-Rim. Then, while Thrawn's in his Office, planning new conquests, the orchestra booms up!

A UBER PENTASTAR FLEET ATTACKING ORD MANTELL

Guess who's leading it.

Kaine and Jerec, with Grant and a few carriers in tow!

You see, this legitimately happened in one of my GC games. I got crushed. Once I lost my main non-hero battlefleet to the PA, the NR and EOTH started to stomp on me. Thrawn got absolutely murdered by Kaine, so then the Emperor came.  Eclipse rekt the Executor, but then Jerec and the support fleet murdered Emperor. Then Daala came, and stomped Jerec, but by then it was too late. I was pushed back to the deep-core.

Post your AI adventures here too, I hope their better then mine xD.

(oh, and by the way, Daala was then murdered by the NR with their VSDs, and by the time Pell came, it was just Byss, Carida, Corulag and Kessel. Which I only kept by spamming ATSTs on the surface.)
