I usually send Isard up into the PA to fight Kaine alone. Enter battle, save, auto-resolve. If you win, re-load and then wait for Kaine to launch his fighters. Rinse & repeat.

I'm surprised no one mentioned my method. Send them through asteroid fields it is the quickest and does not depend on what kind of fleet the enemy has you are essentially committing suicide it is the easiest way in my opinion

Zsinji over Dathomir with his Iron Fist
Warlord, Superstardestroyer and a fleet of Stardestroyers
send your SSD there, let them fight a bit, if you seem to be winning to Autoresolve and the SSD will be destroyed

As we're all aware, the Super Star Destroyers can be tough to kill. As a Remnant player, it can be difficult to to move up in Eras when Moff Isard is able to destroy entire fleets.

Does anyone have any strategies on how to sacrifice Isard or is there a component that I am missing?

Throw plot bunnies at her.

In all seriousness, what the other posters said tends to be the most effective. However, if the PA is around it can be easier to suicide yourself against a Kaine + Praetor Fleet like they tend to field. Just tell Isard to shoot at fighters and you should die pretty quickly.

Find a huge enemy fleet and send Isard alone to attack them. Wait for the battle itself to begin, THEN auto-resolve. Most of the time this should kill an insta-kill for an SSD.

If you're wondering how to make your SSD turn around, tell it to move straight forward. ;)

Actually, the only reliable way I've found to make an SSD turn correctly is to give it a facing command for its current location.  Hold right-click over the ship and move the mouse to a side, and an arrow should follow, indicating the direction you want the ship to face.  Can be done during a move order, but then the messy path finding system rears its head.  The latter use I only find helpful if moving a defensive fleet behind defensive stations - they're a bit better at steering themselves and ending up where I want them.

Well you can basically win the campaign as the Remnant without advancing eras  8=) with that being said, make a fleet of Isard alone, scout for a large fighters fleet with at least 15 wings (which the NR tend to make a LOT), and send your hero to certain doom  ;)
you may want to not attack the shipyard in battle; just move close enough for the fighters to attack you and then just stop. sometimes it helps to turn your back to the enemy (massively reducing your arc of fire).
