Our models don't have damage meshes; it takes significantly longer to do those, and considering how much of our time has been dedicated to doing and redoing just the base art assets, it would take a really long time to implement especially when the programs needed to do it are old and don't always interact well with newer Operating Systems. Also, considering the number of hardpoints in the mod on most ships, it would start to look really ridiculous, not to mention the filesize increase and performance decrease that many extra polygons could potentially occur for many players.

wow, should've realized that. lol thanks for the info! now back to my "from the ground up"  campaign! haha... (is it weird that I always auto the ground battles?)

A lot of hardpoints catch fire

true I have noticed that! wish it was less resource heavy! :P

Hey all, love this mod. it brought back EaW for me and am loving every second of it! haha

but onto my bug/lack of aesthetics...  aren't the capital ships and larger ships suppose to take physical damage when hardpoints are destroyed? my ships engage each other and when I destroy the enemy hardpoints but it doesn't blow chunks off the ships... is there something I did wrong during the installation? is this intended to be like this?
