Sup everyone :).  I just wanted to ask the TR Community What their favorite/least favorite heroes. I am mostly doing this to benefit my maps, but I hope others can benefit from this as well ;).

My favourite is Palpatine - best for hit and run, if necessary plus a very high discount on construction of ships/buildings
least favourite by now: - all Fighterheroes - they simply die to fast

Me:  I'm ready for that battle over Anx Minor!
AI:  You mean the corvette fleet to end all corvette fleets?
Me:  Sigh.  Alright, I'll shoot down all your corvettes.

I try and relive canon battles as much as possible, like Selagis, Dathomir, Anx Minor and such. I normally give those systems the forces they had canonically and lure the AI to attack me there.

I usually split my heroes into the two or three main chokepoints of my territory, move all my inner forces into these fleets and presto! I can begin the attack in several directions at once. Usually this consists of the leader (plus maybe one other hero) in the SSD in one fleet and everybody else in another fleet that includes an SSD once I am able to build it. As to fighter heroes, they are great if you are on the offensive but terrible if you are being attacked.

Ah, Ackbar, he ran right into a Hyper-velocity cannon with me. Once again, he fell for a trap.

I've kind of stayed away from heroes myself much; their rather permanent deaths make them pretty big risks to throw into the fight (especially fighter pilot heroes). Besides, I can't have characters I like in the canon die senseless deaths fighting 25 Quasars.

Yeah, but I can't help but Love Wedge. I might be Imperial but I do have a soft spot for the Rogues and Wraiths of old.

For supposedly being the Rebel's greatest strategic Admiral he doesn't have a great track record if you really look at it.
Ambushed at Endor, Ambushed at Bilbringi, Ambushed at Ciutric, constantly routed in Shadow Hand, nearly killed over Yavin by Daala, and beaten by Pellaeon a few times.
In all these instances luck or other players managed to save the situation from utter disaster, yet he gets credit. Personally I found him to be an average commander at best with the likes of Etahn, Iblis and Antilles being FAR more capable.

Yes.  In either the books or the games Wedge is most likely to win against my imperial forces.

I seldom have any trouble dealing with the Falcon, it's Wedge and Ackbar that enjoy my ire

>Ackbar

Oh boy

Home One is a monster in the early eras.  Without several capital ships, you might as well forget about it - his shields just won't die, so your bombers never get to have any fun.  Just constantly, constantly recharging...  I did manage to kill him in Reunification by luring him over a double-High Velocity Cannon planet.  The Galactic Voyager's shields aren't much help in that scenario.

You'd think he would have noticed that it was a trap.
