Isard, Daala, same difference.  Both egotistical complete failures that happen to have 2 x chromosomes.

I'll give Daala this, she may be a screw up but she at least did the right thing for the Empire...namely give up her command to Pellaeon. Isard just ruined everything she touched and didn't have sense to see it.

Daala at least had some sense, though she still managed to get large portions of the Imperial Fleet blown up.

As someone who's not a huge fan of the Kevin Anderson books, the way Daala was treated after the Jedi Academy series (in which yes, she was terrible), was pretty awful. Her approach in Darksaber was actually very very good. Anderson just had her run into a crazy mystical nonsense obstacle (bunch of jedi knights who could MOVE victory star destroyers and a single messed up jedi in Callista)??? Come on. Her approach was perfectly sound in terms of military strategy.

The order is Isard->Thrawn->Palpatine->Daala->Pellaeon. Killing the EotH Thrawn in the first era will not make it advance, it's based on the Imperial one.

Eras advance when the Imperial leader dies.  So you need to kill off Dala to advance.
