Ran into the same problem myself while playing as IR in the campaign 'Fractured Empire'. The planet itself was NR controlled. I ended up conquering the rest of the Galaxy (as Ession was the only NR planet left, I turned my full attention to the Pentastar Alignment), leaving Ession to the end. Seeing no other solution, I invaded the world again, and Auto-Resolved from orbit  8=)

On a similar note:
While on the land tactical map itself, I had attempted to Auto-Resolve beforehand, but with no effect.

Needless to say, the use of the smiley in my last post implies my efforts were successful in crowning Isard as Empress :)

I experienced the same issue while playing as PA, and while Ession was held by the NR. I won the land battle I played, but then when the interface reverted to the GC view, the planet was still held by additional forces.

This seems like a small one time glitch in Essence, playing the second battle won me the system. Haven't encountered it yet in any other system.

I am playing Essence of War as New Republic. Have about 3/4 of the Galaxy, IR only controls two planets as well as the PA. EotH has everything else. I just launched and won the land battle at the PA owned planet Ession and it did not transfer control. Galaxy map shows Tie Crawlers on the surface that were not present during the battle. When landing a second time its just an empty map with only my forces.
