Well, we're also making the basic reveal and firing ranges of ships much larger as well. You'll actually be able to see significantly past the front of your ship.

YAY!!!   :o :o

That's basically what we're doing.

I feel like you're saying this a lot lately. I like that.

Actually according to wookiepedia they did have multiple versions of the Modular-including observation modules. Perhaps it could still keep the reveal map ability or at least the ability to reveal large sections of the map like the TIE Scout's sonar/radar burst from the vanilla game that revealed a large circle of the map(you just selected the ability and then clicked on a part of the map obscured by fog of war no matter the distance away and it would reveal that section for a few seconds, long enough to tac jump or scout.)

What?
What do you mean by 'What?'. As long as the MTC could clear the fog of war I would be happy, but as I said that would not be canon. It had weapons and I think it carried fighters too, let me check.... Yes it did, the Survey module did that is.

I like that idea.
Me too. Especially with Joruus C'Baoth, it makes since for him to have that ability.

Also the MTC could basically have no weapons systems and I would be happy, but for sake of canon it should have weapons. We will have to wait to see what version 2.0 brings us concerning the Modular Taskforce Cruiser.

or you could give Jedi and Sith characters the reveal map ability that reveals the map for a short time, which would be sufficient for tactical jumps)

I've often found the Modulars to be quite delicate. Something should be given to each faction as a scout or sensor ship(perhaps a bonus to certain hero units? Joruus C'Baoth could have the Reveal map ability in space in his carrack(or you could give Jedi and Sith characters the reveal map ability that reveals the map for a short time, which would be sufficient for tactical jumps)

Before anyone gets too attached to the Modular Taskforce Cruiser im going to point out that it has been changed for 2.0.  Its firepower is down (only has 15 medium turbos in canon) and i believe* the line of sight has also been reduced (the ship in-game is supposed to have a carrier module, not a sensor module, and it seems we neglected to fix the line-of-sight when we changed that back before 1.0).

* I could be mistaken on this point.

Does that mean it will actually get the, Five bomber squadrons i think? that it says it gets in the description???? And will there be any ships that will refill that role that tie scouts/the modular task force cruiser played?

Oh thank you... those things seemed a little over the top. Iirc they have 1 pop.. which just doesn't make sense for a ship of that size and power. I may be wrong though.

[Struck due to topic split]

EDIT: And on the topic of the Executor:
ALL of those 100+ hardpoints are WEAPONS batteries.
138 weapon hardpoints in fact, plus the hangar.

I would also recommend, for those people who complain about how slow and unresponsive the ship is when manoeuvring,  that the player doesn't directly tell the SSD to attack any specific unit (it does tend to throw a bit of a fit trying to decide which guns to bring to bear).  Instead just tell the ship to move to a point within weapon range of the enemy (perhaps bring it around in stages) at which point it should automatically begin to fire.

Wait... the MTC is even more overpowered than I thought it was? Its got almost as much firepower as a strike cruiser or a victory 1, strong armor, 1 pop, AND reveal the whole map? e_e Anyway, thanks everyone!

And yeah I know that flanking them is kind of a pain. I tend to only do that when I have to because my numbers are insufficient to tackle it head on. I.E. taking on Isard early on in Art of War. I just hyper them in behind it to minimize damage.
