I like that, a one time build. I'd be in favor of anything that allows for the IR to get KDY, as again, they don't get Kuat to start with like half the time, especially in the Camaas Crisis.

That's basically all the ships the Empire has, so it would either be too small a bonus to be worth much, or completely overpowered, especially if you have Kuat as well.

I've been thinking about making it so that the Corporations are one-time-only buildable things in Galactic mode. It would mean you don't start out with them, but it would be balanced out by the fact that if you don't start with the planet you have a chance to build it once conquered. It would also mean their inclusion in AoW Lite. Thoughts?

The only thing I'd see with giving the IR 2 corps is that they already have the single most powerful ships in 3 of the 5 eras (Executor in 1/Sovereign in 3/Executor in 4)(this is of course ignoring the fact that Pally is on the Eclipse in 3 since that I'm guessing is the single most powerful space unit in the game).  Giving them another corp would allow them, if they had both, to build frighteningly powerful fleets in those eras.

Although, even if they did get it, what would it really help with?  Give a discount on Immobilizer cruisers (so weak, who cares if they're cheaper, most people don't bother) and Dominator (Interdictor) cruisers?  Unless you added in a bunch more of the ships SFS produced, or made more of the Tie series that SFS produced buildable seperate from a SD, I don't see it doing an awful lot of good.

You're thinking of the Strident from the Second Galactic Civil War.  The Viscount is actually a Mon Calamari design.

I understand that you don't want to make the corps seem like too much of a permanent or non-unique bonus, but I really do feel that the IR  could use KDY more often. This is especially true for the later eras, Pellaeon could use the help. What about making KDY a capture bonus like I suggested above?

Note: CEC could also offer a bonus for the Viscount if you do end up adding it.

As far as Sienar and CEC go, they were discussed however we decided that their benefits weren't exactly worth the boost (two types of Corellian Corvettes don't really require a 30% bonus, basically)

I must say, I love the inclusion of the corporations. It's a great strategic twist and is especially helpful in the early game.

However, the IR is often getting shafted as Kuat isn't in Imperial hands at the beginning of most of the GCs. This means they never get KDY, while Mon Calamari is always in NR hands, as is Syca, so those corporations are always in play for those factions.

I'd like to recommend that the KDY Corporation be given as a one time bonus for capturing Kuat, assuming it doesn't start in Imp hands. Forget the shipyard capture bonus, just give the Corp as a bonus. This would make taking Kuat early a critical factor for the IR. The same could be done for the NR and the CEC corporation on Corellia.

Also, seeing as how the NR get two corporations, how about adding Sienar Fleet systems? This would also allow for the addition of another planet, Lianna, where they have their HQ. If you add Sienar Fleet systems and Lianna, that could be a system the IR ALWAYS starts in control of. Or you could base it on Corulag, where they have their advanced research division. Sienar could offer bonuses for TIE Defenders, Scimitar bombers, TIE maulers, TIE crawlers, and the Immobilizer Interdictors.  (All info gleaned from Wookiepedia, I have too much time on my hands apparently...)

EDIT: Oh and Sienar also made the Vindicators, so that could be another unit for which they offer a bonus...
