IDT stands for Imperial Dropship Transport. It's from The Force Unleashed. It's a pretty stupid name, since it implies that it transports dropships, so we just call it the IDT.
I presume IDT stands for Imperial Dedicated Transport? Also you said 2 sets of lasers and some missiles, it isn't by chance the Multi-Altitude Assault Transport (MAAT)?
Yes, and we don't care about necroposting as long as something is being added to the discussion ad the topic is still relevant, so that's fine. I'd hardly call 3 weeks necroposting, though, so don't worry about that kind of thing.
I know I'm reviving a long dead thread with this comment, but I saw that you mentioned the V-Wing would be added. I think this ship is cool and all, but the problem with it when I used it in other mods that featured it was that it was so fast that it barely had time to attack before it was making another pass, making it effectively useless as it did little to no damage. Is the team going to take a different approach to this craft?
As with most things with the EotH, they don't lack important things by design, what we can include in any given version is limited to what we can finish, and considering the absolute abortion that we called 1.0 (which was only meant as a way to get out what we'd done, we intended to sop after that but as you can tell wasn;t that) we've had to prioritize.
As far as AA turrets go the entire reason the air units got cut in the first place was that so few things could even hit them that unless you built AA turrets or had dedicated AA-units every battle you were probably screwed. If the enemy had a bunch of air units, and you lacked one of the few units that could actually target them, you may as well just autoresolve since at least then you had a chance at hitting them. This is something we've addressed. It doesn't mean everything is now *good* against them, dedicated AA is still necessary for that, just that you have a fighting chance.
If you're going to introduce air vehicles, are you going to give build pad AA turrets to the EtoH?
Also what exactly was the problem with air vehicles being tough to target? In the vanilla version for instance, air speeders could be shot down by AT-ATs if you took care to target them...By "dedicated AA", do you mean the AT-AA, plex soldiers, stuff like that?
