I'm sure that eventually we'll be able to fiddle it down to a reasonable point, but for now, yeah, it's basically this or nothing. GC doesn't seem to have any huge issues, however, just easy skirmish.

Thanks for the response. It's a shame that it is either crazy hard or nothing, but I guess something is better than nothing. Thanks again for your hard work.

No, you cannot remove the AI because its functions are spread throughout several files, and we've had to do things in a different way that requires adjustment. The AI in this mod or any other EaW mod that alters as many things as we do is probably always going to be a little over or under powered, since we have to go around a bunch of different things if we want to avoid pissing off other modders by installing things to different folders that would interfere with other mods and whatnot. Modding any game has its limitations, and we can only change so much. If you ask Petroglyph why the AI breaks so easily and why it's such a hassle to workaround it, they will actually tell you "we didn't actual expect anyone to modify that stuff". As a result we're stuck with trying to fine tune something that will usually react differently to different situations. It wasn't a conscious design choice to make the easy AI as active as it is, however until we're able to sort it out more it was a choice between somewhat harder than we'd prefer, or absolutely nothing like it ended up being in 1.0, and we'd appreciate everyone's patience as we did that fine tuning.

How do I remove the AI and make it vanilla? Maybe I just suck at games, but having 15 capital ships attack me when the enemy AI has no mining facilities on easy AI just isn't fun. I suspect you may alienate other casual players from this mod when the difficulty is set like that, which is too bad because the mod looks like you put a lot of time into it and looks like it could be fun.
