What is this about? I mean Maul is dead so you cant do that story anymore unless you retcon the episode entirely but that make rebels no longer cannon.
this movie would have been fine if Maul hadn't been killed off in rebels but since he is dead we don't have someone for Obi wan to fight. I don't want Obi wan just fighting random criminals but I also want a villain that isn't a rogue jedi or a bounty hunter.
However their are characters who deserve their own movies because they are just cool. so this is how they should handle themI'd wait and see how the Han Solo movie turns out first; wouldn't be at all surprised if that didn't turn out to be an Oceans-type escapade. Think of it like a big-screen version of Zahn's Scoundrels. And it would also be funny because everyone's said VII-IX should have been the Thrawn trilogy so imagine the face-palms if Disney adapted one of his other novels instead!
1. for bounty hunters make it like heist movie involving the underworld and shady characters.

Maul was interesting as he was solely a physical threat to the Jedi, a threat to their lives, and a threat of destruction to their order with the return of the Sith Lords. There's nothing more then that, so I don't see much of a reason to go that route again as it's not a philosophical battle. Most good stories involve those philosphical battles (Episode 3, the entire original trilogy, R1 to an extent, I try to forget that movie), and Obi-Wan, the sage archetype, should have that as the central part of his movie. Maul just, wouldn't be able to provide that.
That said, we still don't have a good answer for what would the movie tell, only that it should include a philosphical battle.

now what do I think Disney needs to do is take the rogue one approach.
1. New characters (or legends characters brought back)
2. settings that are things we haven't seen (*cough* *cough* in between Empire and Jedi *cough* *cough*)
However their are characters who deserve their own movies because they are just cool. so this is how they should handle them
1. for bounty hunters make it like heist movie involving the underworld and shady characters.
2. for characters like Darth Vader and Darth Maul set them up in stories that are interesting and test the character limits and show their POWER!!!!!!
3. dont do movies on characters like Nei Numb because people wont fly with that.
4. Maybe a Admiral Ackbar movie be nice all with a Alien main character.
idk these are just my thoughts

http://fandom.wikia.com/articles/obi-wan-star-wars-ewan-mcgregor-replaced
When the strongest strength it has is that "the prequels are bad and so Ewan Mcgregor can never have a serious acting career again" as a point, the entire thing seems forced click bait. The only problem, is that Disney does believe the prequels forever tained Star Wars and everything related to them should be burned.
So let's discuss the Obi-Wan movie, disappointment it's not discount Tatooine battle movie, disappointment it's not Thrawn, disappointment it's not Darth Vader. Or well, hope that Ewan does a good job with the movie and lets me like at least one of the Disney Canon movies.
