Yeah, the game doesn't allow you to edit those previews, hence us putting the pictures in the manual.

You can always know what each faction start with if you take a look at the manual.
You can find it in your mods folder, or you can download it from the following link:

It is recommended to read the manual, since there are lots of useful extra information there

I've been thinking, that when I am sitting there trying to decide what gc I want to play, it would bee nice to know what planet each faction starts with. I recently did final imperial push, and I found out I controlled a section in the southern part of the galaxy that wasn't connected to the rest of my empire. If when you are looking at all the gray dots, when you are picking the gc, if those gray dots could be yellow, dar blue, green, and cyan, that would be nice.
