What the Resistance has could be more interesting. It's likely that as the New Republic disarmed and mothballed its fleet Leia and allies funnelled some of this to the new Resistance. They might even have retained Winter's services as undercover quartermaster again!I just read into that and first of all: Yeah Lancer, again something from the Legends.
From what I have seen so far the First Order has a far more varied fleet with new designs (or at least, Before the Awakening names lots of stuff that didn't exist in Legends).
Second: Your theory might be right. Since the New Republic doesn't lead an open War against the First Order it is likely that they mothballed their fleet.
But right now: Who knows for sure? Let's see what the new Novels and Episode VIII will do.
Perhaps we will see another SSD, because even in the Wiki it says in the Resurgent-Class Articel
"Despite its impressive size, it was not the largest vessel within the First Order's navy, with Resistance intelligence believing even larger warships were in development. "
