Try to do a completely "clean" install.  IE - totally remove everythign first, manually deleting the installation directories if the installers don't, THEN reinstall.

Compatibility mode is where you right click the executable, then go to Properties, Compatibility tab, and choose to run it with compatibility for an earlier OS.  You shouldn't NEED to, but some people have better luck with running FOC with compatibility for XP SP3 turned on.

Okay. I did that.
I believe now the freezing problem is gone - but now I have another one. The enemy AI is unresponsive and doesn't move unless I get in range then they attack. How can I fix this?

Yes, I have tried reinstalling Forces of Corruption. But I did that before the installation of Thrawn's Revenge I believe. I'll try reinstalling again.

Have you tried reinstalling the base game?

Also, are you running in compatibility mode, or no?

I am not familiar with compatibility mode. Excuse my lack of knowledge regarding this topic...

I'm assuming your using CD version, not steam?

Do you have RAM fix installed?

Correct... I am using the CD version.
Also I installed the RAM Fix and the problem still happens. Even in vanilla empire at war forces of corruption, in galactic conquest.

Also I am running on a Windows 8 computer. I don't know if that has an effect. Forgot to include that, my bad!
And I meet the system requirements.

Hi so I have this issue where when I enter Galactic Conquest with Thrawn's Revenge the game freezes and I can't even alt tab out. It will flash several times and completely freeze and I'll be forced to manually shut down my computer. If it helps I also had Republic at War and I would have similar circumstances where the game would freeze and I would have to power down my computer manually. What should I do about this problem as it doesn't make it playable?

Thank you!
