A shame not many more stories were made about them, I would've loved to see what Kaine would do had he been given the time to strengthen up his forces for an assault against the New Republic.

Instead, he joins The Reborn Emperor and is killed off...damn...

Kaine had YEARS to strengthen himself. He truly didn't want to expand the PA. He saw it as the future, a new cradle of civilization. He passed up the opportunities to save Imperial Center from falling, declared he didn't want to be a new Emperor and only grudgingly helped Thrawn. Left to himself he would have happily stayed in those 14 Sectors and ruled them with no thought to the Galaxy at large. He was basically more or less coerced into Shadow Hand, though he proved a great military commander as well as Grand Moff when he beat the NR in 12 battles and drove into the Core against Ackbar and Bel Iblis's forces in the mid and outer rim. Then through Devian planting false intel that Grant was returning to fight for the PA he lured Kaine into a trap set by Alpha Blue of the NR when Devian leaked Kaine's travel destination to them. Kaine went to meet an old friend and the last Grand Admiral in his private shuttle and was met with squadrons of NR E Wings who killed him.

Kaine was a great Ruler in that he made certain his Empire was stable, it's people content and his power solid rather than constantly wage ceaseless war against both the NR and his fellow Warlords. However Kaine was also frustratingly isolationist and deeply feared gambling too much on expansion and losing everything(as Zsinj, Teradoc, Delvardus, Lankin and ShadowSpawn did, each losing their Empires or lives as a result) He felt as long as he remained in the PA he was safe and also absolute ruler of the faction. So he passed on absorbing much of the weaker territories near him, he passed on saving Coruscant 2 years after Endor, he refused to cooperate with any other Warlord aside from very minimal financial or trade, he didn't want to back Thrawn but eventually decided he had too, he finally did stir himself to promising results after Thrawn's death with his campaign with the rest of the Warlords that took back the core and Imp Center...then the Imp mutiny happened, Palps came back and took full control then Devian set him up. If Palps hadn't come back or poisoned the Imps minds to do a battle royale that wrecked them, it's possible Kaine might well have been a key player in the reestablishing of the Empire. He was the highest ranked at that time, and had the most solid territory and economy as well as holding the Reaper and Scourge Squadron intact...who can say.

They had the greatest potential to become a giany Empire of any of the Warlord kingdoms. The PA had the most stability, the strongest military until Zsinj absorbed so much of the central forces and territory, a Grand Moff, Grand Admiral, High Inquisitor, 14 Moffs, five of the largest corporate entities in the galaxy, Muunilist so they held the banking center of the galaxy, three major shipyards and multiple trade routes. They could have easily become the Empire's heir were they not so solidly isolationist.

I find it funny that, in the EU, they didn't do much yet, in Thrawn's Revenge, we can make them into a giant mega corporational empire :P

Ew, doesn't sound particularly fun for those that enjoy the good ol' fashioned Imperial types.

It wasn't. PProbably part of the reason so many Imps helped in Palps assassination.

The Dark Empire was meant to gradually place all positions of aauthority with Dark Siders infused with Palpatines will. In this way he hoped to personally control everyone he ruled and gradually do away with any non darksider in the military.

Either way they were pretty cool, I just wish more was known about this (sort of) mysterious group of Imperials.

Can anyone explain to me the differences between the regular Galactic Empire and Palpatine's second one? That confused me quite a bit. Some sort of Theocracy or something in difference?

I know plenty about the regular Empire but the Emperor's newer version is different, how so?

They committed some forces to Thrawn's confederation but did not formally join him.
Correction.

Pretty sure Kaine gave as little support to Thrawn as he could get away with.

I actually did like how the PA managed to stay in the long run the way it did while it didn't lose any power much in the way most Warlords would eventually burned out. It kept a neutral stance and that worked out well.

They maintained a very isolationist ppolicy and did not expand. They also remained neutral and traded with all the Imp factions. This way tge NR and Warlords left them alone. They committed forces to Thrawn's confederation but did not formally join him. They joined Shadow Hand fully until Kaine died then they rreturnedto nneutrality until aborbed by Pellaeon two years latrr into the IR.

I understand that the Pentastar Alignment was a significant Imperial power under the command of Ardus Kaine, but what I don't get it is what really happened to it and why was it never really focused on (from what I know)? What did it really do?

I mean wasn't the PA's territory under Thrawn in 9 aby? I know that he fully joined with the Emperor a year later, but overall what was the PA like and did they do anything significant?

Edit: I looked into it more, still not much is said about them.
