We're doing as much as we can to encourage tactics other than "fleetballing"

This post was kind of confusing but I'll try to make sense of it.

First off, it is not difficult to raid multiple planets. Just try to make sure the planets a you're raising are far enough away from each other so your raiding fleets don't both quickly get smashed in orbit. If you're losing, it sounds like you it's aren't building enough ships. Destroying the planet ASAP is always a good idea. For any raiding, siege frigates with escorts are important. Take the planet, so they have to pump money back into planetary development, and try to destroy whatever orbital infrastructure you can. SoaSE is more than just "kill the enemy", although it definitely can be that way. Culture is an option if you're into that. I like starting a war of attrition, as my strategy is expand as fast as possible and get the most resources. Then you can just attack and attack and attack until they run out. I can't speak for Corey as to what the mod is going towards, but it seems your issues are stemming from just not being smart about your playing.

Something with the EaW when I am playing against other people sometimes I can dominate certain areas with my fleet, but my human player can often stall me on the planets by just being better at ground than I am. There was certain things to do against humans that could hurt financially a lot or really just expend my military force or even hold it in place. It seems like SoasE has just a straight forward, find your enemy, kill your enemy. Generally what I have found is when combat ensues on the first contact planet everybody rushes there. Sometimes you can get around the back but pretty rarely.

Which brings it to being just a slug out. Which I know you guys have already addressed. Is there any plans to have a more fluid(meaning doing stuff) gameplay? Like it seems pretty lifeless out there just a bunch of military ships shooting each other. It's fairly difficult to raid numerous planets as a large force is always nearby to squash it. Something I found playing against others with ICW if I expanded quickly and did not have the sufficient fleet to police each planet during it's early stages, I usually lost those planets or it took quite some time to get it under control. I also was forced to send reinforcements to lone side of the map while being careful to defend the other.

 Do I make sense?

 Is it stupid?
