I have a question that's bugged me a little about Star Wars for a while.
When two people with lightsabers fight, wouldn't it be a race to the wrists as soon as the blades touched? How do they make it so that the blades stay in the same place relative to each other, and more importantly, why?

And another thing, did Luke keep the lightsaber forms when founding the NJO? It seems most of the styles are redundant, and it also seems that it would be difficult to master all seven.

Juyo/Vaapad eh? Very nice.

I did find some interest over how Juyo came to be and another video about theories of the possible origins of the forms had Juyo's origin possibly being:

1. Jedi Battlemasters who thought Form VI Niman were for pussies and opt to do the complete opposite of what Niman is, which suddenly went too far.

2. Juyo is actually a Sith style that either got leaked out to the Jedi who decided the style does have some merit to use, or some Sith Spies made the style within the Jedi in order to screw around with them.

Hell, I respect certain Jedi for even using the style rather be all "you'll fall to the dark side using it" and stay away from using it.

...Looking at General Kota here.

From the descriptions, form VII would be right up my alley.

When I see the playlist, I see a bunch of videos that have nothing to do with lightsabre battle...

Such as, the first video is Battlestar Galactica's someone creates unsexy...

Yeah, I do apologize, whenever I do post the actual playlist...It just simply starts with Form I, Shii-Cho...And nothing else.

Pain in the butt really.

If you were to be a force user and is given a choice of lightsaber fighting form of 1-7, which one would you take?

Short run-down videos of all seven forms.

EDIT: Since posting the actual playlist brings up a video instead of just heading to the playlist, I'll just leave the list of playlists here and it's all the way to the right.

I'd say Form 5, Shien/Djem So for me. It seems to be a pretty solid form with decent defenses and pretty good offense (though it is made for dueling with the power strikes).

...Though I honestly loath the backwards grip stance.
