well that isn't very canon, and the SSD shoud have shield generator and engine hardpoints imo

What part isn't canon? Proton torpedos penetrating shields the way Petroglyph had it is what actually isn't canon. Particle shields could completely deflect a proton torpedo, and there are huge canonical inconsistencies with exactly what a proton torpedo even does.

As for why SSDs don't have engine hardpoints and shield generator hardpoints, Thuellai basically covered that. There's such a redundancy in ships of that size you'd basically have to destroy the entire ship before they'd fail.

I mostly play Stars Align and Essence of War.  I tested the Shadow Hand, so I'm horribly burnt out on it, but I like the Praetor, so I tend to only play as the PA.  And then I like the Ascendency SD so I also will play some of the EOTH campaigns, but other than that, almost never play anymore as the IR or NR.

Beat Isaard with nothing more than Ackbar in Home One, Two Assault Frigates, one Dreadnaught, two Corvettes, all the fighters and a single shot with a planetary ion cannon. She even had two ISD II's as backup.

I loved on beta5 when I jumped in on wedge as the PA with a fleet of like 4 Praetors, 2 Interdictor SD's (which are now gone from PA), and the Vengeance (Jerec's SSD) and Reaper (Cain's Executor SSD).  brought in Cain on one side, Jerec on the other, dropped in a Interdictor SD, and pounded him until he blew up.

My favorite is still in Shadow hand though, coming in with the Eclipse and superlasering him.  I love watching the Lusankya blow up, it's one of my favorite hobbies.

I like Shadow Hand for watching the pitiful rebels flee from my might.(When I just want to feel like a God I play that GC) Normally I play Fractured Empire, The Stars Align, Hunt for Zsinj and AoW though as i'm a Warlords fan.
The Thrawn Campaign and Final Imperial Push are also awesome.
Hell, they are ALL awesome. lol and I so love hearing my voice in the commands.

SSDs don't have a single Shield Generator hardpoint for the same reason most Mon Cals don't - redundant generators.  Blowing up one just doesn't matter.

Likewise, the thing has, I believe, thirteen engines?  Not surprising given its bulk.  And, how many more hardpoints you think you could fit on that thing?

I will admit, it makes SSDs terrifying, but they're not unbeatable.  And they DO take up 15 pop, so they're rarely sufficiently supported.  Though I've yet to actually kill the Lusankya, but I have been able to force it to withdraw once or twice.  Friggin' Wedge...

The other thing to remember is that in 2.0 missiles (like proton torpedoes) don't bypass shields.  You can't just use the vanilla spam bombers tactic to win.

If you haven't taken down her shields, you won't be able to damage the hardpoints even if they're all targeting one. If you just have a fleet of Nebulon-Bs and other light ships then the SSDs are going to be able to both out-tank and out-damage you. SSDs are pretty easy to kill if you have the right fleet comp.

Just like to say 2.0 is really fun, but, when I was in a space battle over Carmoon or somthing( its near Kasheyk)  (I can't spell) I was not doing any damage to Issard. It wasnt lag as she was doing damage to me. She almost took out my fleet. But all my fire combined, Y-Wings, Nebulon-Bs and what not(still in era 1) was not doing any damage. I even told them to target 1 hardpoint and nothing happened. I just don't understand.
