Considered it but the problem there is we don't have anything for him to say. The most likely outcome is it being removed entirely.Yes please! Can the IR and NR ones be removed too? It gets so repetitive having hologram guy say exactly the same thing at the start of every single battle.
As to the hologram why not take the voice and sayings from the Star Destroyer version you guys have but only certain quotes he uses in game. Such as "There will be no survivors." for when your fleet has the advantage, "Choose your position wisely." for when it's even more or less and "I hope you have a strategy." for when you are outnumbered.Could try it, but I'm not sure we'll be able to have that much control over the duration of the animation. I'll look into it.
I thought you guys said that the Raptor forces model wasn't working(I remember someone explaining they had tried to combine the Royal Guard helmet with Stormtrooper body to create said unit some time ago but it didn't take)That somebody was me. When I said the problem isn't a model, I meant just in reference to Wraith. The problem with the Raptor is most definitely the model.
I think I remember hearing that the Wraiths as a multiple unit were difficult to get to work, but it was just a thought I had that could bring the espionage and saboteur angle back to the Hunt for Zsinj(which is still awesome by the way)
A last question if I may, how do you guys do the voices in game? Do you just record them, or use only in game ones?We really don't do that many. The only one we've actually kept on release has been Grievous for the FotR minimods. There are several problems in that department. First, it's hard to get voice actors. Ca3ba's done some stuff, but you can't have one person do a voice for every unit in a game. Second, when we do get voice actors the recordings aren't always the greatest because we don't have the proper equipment, and when it's ingame it sounds hollow or the levels are off. Finally, and less importantly, it's a lot of HD space to take up if we can't do it properly.
I was wondering if the briefing hologram at the start of every battle for the empire of the hand could be changed to the hologram of Thrawn from the original FoC you see talking to Tyber in the campaign instead of the Nikto mercenary hologram.Considered it but the problem there is we don't have anything for him to say. The most likely outcome is it being removed entirely.
I was thinking since that you mentioned that the Raptor troopers model was running into difficulties that why not have them like the Defilers in the original FoC(basically spec units that can sabotage some things on enemy planets and cause them to revolt on some, they could only be in space in TIE Raptors but undetectable to enemy forces until after the sabotage, the Wraiths could be similar as only in space but their presence over an enemy world give certain options like sabotage and such you could just have them with their mix of TIEs and X Wings without worrying about a ground skin for them or the Raptors.)It might work for the Wraiths, but not for the Raptors. The TIE Raptors are already in the mod, and the Raptor troopers used the Y-4 transports for their operations anyways. People wouldn't be happy if something that was supposed to be the main ground unit shows up on the build bar and then can't be used for their most obvious function. And the problem with Wraith isn't that we're lacking ground models.
Also Crimson Command, were the special VSDs on the to do list for 1.3 or a later addition?Crimson Command was going to be done after the VSD's got redone, which means whenever one of us decides to remake them. We tend not to schedule that bit, but the usual schedule for redoing things has been on the basis of (1) EotH and then (2) how much does it need it, which means the Golans and Kirov are definitely going to be done first. So it's hard to say, really. You saw what happened with the Guards though, if somebody decides it's what they want to work on it could be done by next weekend.
