I think you mean EpIV there Vadereclipse ;)

The Rebels initially acquired the Prototypes from Fresia, but then "liberated" an Incom facility where the X Wings had been in production.

i dob't know. all i know is the death star novels are canon, while eaw is not strictly canon. for example, han solo did not work with the rebels before episode 1.

didn't the rebels just steal few prototypes?

maybe it was part of an initial batch supplied by the rogue incom scientists, if an initial batch was supplied, as i'd expect.

if they had 500 x wings and a lucrehulk, isn't that enough to destroy a significant fleet? i mean, one lucrehulk could destroy a flotilla of venators. by 0bby, they hadn't moved along that far.
Firstly, while a Lucrehulk was capable of taking on several Venators, this event took place 19 years after the Clone Wars ended, by which time they were considered obsolete (especially when compared to the modern Imperial and Victory Star Destroyers prevalent in the Imperial Fleet).

Secondly, while 500 X Wings is a formidable force, against the Death Star, with no tactical or technical information (being before the plans were stolen), they were near useless.  Also factoring in the destruction of their carrier ship (note they were being carried, not using their own hyperdrives, this may suggest at that stage the Rebellion was unable to supply their fighters with sufficient fuel to facilitate such independent operations), it would be reasonable to accept the huge loss of co-ordination that led to the massacre.

I was just wondering that the hell did the rebels have about 500 X-wings during that time! (0 BBY) I mean that's a large amount for a at that time still small rebellion. Does anyone have any ideas where they came from?
