piloting is not genetic, however the skills needed to excel in piloting are, such as reflexes and such

can't spot where. and I don't think that flying skill is genetic but if parents are both excellent pilots I think that the kid(s) are propably being educated well in that area.

it doesn't exactly introduce it in black and white.

Wait...when did it ever say Thrawn became Emperor?
I dont think piloting skills are genetic.......sure Anakin and Luke are blatant contradictions on that point, but seriously, I have never heard of skills being genetic. Cool idea however I must admit.

This applies unless Star Wars actually introduces the point of skills being genetic.

knowing that han was a swwop racing pro, i can bet he was a good pilot of fighters.
is he ever seen piloting a fighter?
He is quite a good pilot, but somewhere he admits that Soontir Fel is better with starfighter sized ships.

a lot of the skill of luke and anakin was the force.
and looking at the evidence.
han was a good pilot.
his daughter jaina, a great pilot.
jacen, a decent pilot. (well, he piloted a stealthx at least.)
soontir fel had jagged fel, a great pilot, and chak fel, a competent pilot.

in sw, emperors are not young when they come to power.
look at palpatine, thrawn etc. they are all old when in power. an emperor would have a youth. who says he didn't pilot then?

he propably would pilot in youth. and if his parents are jag and jaina they propably insist that he does.
