wouldn't lightsabers use plasma though if they were light they would go on forever

as was i :P
i mean seriously as arbiter said, lightsabers and the force make everything unrealistic seriously guys
u can laugh at me if there's lightsabers in the future but still

yea i was beginning to think this was getting a little rediculious.

Outbound Flight has not only 6+ times the mass of a normal dreadnaught, but six times the engine power which provides your thrust... Anywho, Scarecrow is right, this isn't going to turn into some sort of debate over what is and isn't possible, as lightsabers and the force throw all of that out the window. Regardless, Outbound Flight WILL be slightly faster than a regular Dreadnaught. Not significantly, but still faster.

yea but it takes a special kind of engine to do so correct?

You forget that we are talking about the Star Wars universe, in which spacecraft can exceed the speed of light......

arbiter there is a thrust to mass ratio that limits your possible speed in space. the heavier an object, the more thrust to get it off the planet and propel it through space is required. otherwise we could have easily gone past the speed of light by now. so far that we know, possible speed is limitless. although some theorize that the speed of light is the maximum possible velocity

ok thanks for the clarifacation arb

Space allows unlimited velocity, So technically a greater mass with greater engine power would achieve greater speed.... Anywho, it won't be that much faster, just slightly.

okay i did the physics math using icbm's for the example. if you take 1 missile that is capable of 4 times the speed of sound. and combine it with 5 more for say massive payload delivery...(all hypothetical) you could actually achieve 1.5 times the speed of just 1 icbm. so there for, the dreadnaughts should go 1.5 times faster than normal

We're talking in-game mechanics here, not book canon.  As a hero unit, Outbound Flight will be better than 6 individual dreadnaughts would be.

I read the book recently, and it said that they had the same speed......

but they have a larger central core, i got the info that it would go faster from a post by arbiter

technically it should go slower because you are adding mass to 6 dreadnaughts that already have to pull their own weight.

it can also go faster, although this is undecidibly not too big a deal
