there's z3r0x's foc addon 3.5 which i thought was good.
pheonix rising-unique but well done
Ultimate empire at war-high quality and fun
and return of the clones was fun to play.

for people whose taste's in mods are not as refined as other there are mods like AEM 5.0 and A Galaxy Divided(Terrible)

then there are the good sounding mods that certainly have their problems such as Awakening of the Rebellion, Steiner's Advanced Units, Spaceship Addon, and Phoenix Rising.

ok but somewhat lacking mods like ueaw and return of the clones.

of the good mods that are currently available, z3r0x's 3.5 mod is probably the best. But not for long ; )

AGD is terrible.
don't get it.
UEAW and AEM have nothing other mods don't have, IMO.

There are many good mods. It depends upon your taste. Like some people think that Z3r0x was hurried and was just slapped together and others love it.

it's more efficient in the end, and 9/10 times, all you need to do is move the containing folder in the rar/zip e.g. "ThrRevEOTH" iinto "mods".

AEM is a pretty good addon
I like it because it keeps it simple
Unless they are a large scale deal (like thrawn's revenge), i dont like mods that have dozens of ships per faction, may of which do the exact same thing but just are there because they LOOK cool or different.

It does add some ships to factions: MC90, Imp2, acclamtor2, MC104 (supercapital, comes with escort fleet) MC40, Victory2, strike cruiser, carrack, lancer, k-wing, e-wing, Assault frigate MK1, ACC, t3b, and many other land and space units, but not too exessive. Also re sizes units to a larger, but not complete, degree of accuracy.

It increases plant count to 72, and adds some only trainable on units to increase specific planet's role in strategy
For instance,:
Correlian battleship, destroyer, frigate only on corellia
Sheilded t3b and t4b only on some planets
Droid units only on some planets (aat, munificent, commerce guild destroyer)
Gorund x-wings

All this makes you plan strategy in a more complex way, because you must go for what you need
Its fun to play, but one GC took me over 72 hours on hard

I dont have any proof, but i think it decreases field of fire slightly, increasing the need for tactical maneuvering in space. this gives a frigate attack group a chance against larger vessels.

A very nice FoC mod is Nomada_Firefox's "Alliance" (currently 4.2, version 4.3 about to be released soon) - very good, lots of units, unique mpas (ground and space), 120 planets and campaigns for various eras (including "Thrawn's campaign")... with huge campaign "Galaxy at war" starting before Yavin and lasting to the Pellaeon Era...

If you can get the AI to work properly, I recommend Awakening of the Rebellion. Its more for patient people though because everything is much more expensive than in the base game however so you have to carefully consider what you do or you might get screwed lol. I still prefer Thrawn's Revenge, but out of all the mods I've played, Z3R0x, Rise of the Mandalorians (another fairly good mod), Alliance, some random clone wars mod, AotR is probably the only other one I thought was well put together.

My favorite mod other than TR is Absolute Corruption.  Goes in kinda the exact OPPOSITE direction as TR, in that it's about as NON-canon as it gets.  Empire can build Nebulas and Bakura Destroyers, they have things such as the Pallaeon, Praetor, Allegiance and Titan classes.  They even have AT-AT mkII's and AT-ST mkII's (shielded) that are ABSOLUTELY non-canon.

But if you enjoy space battle, it's a ton of fun.

clone wars ,assj , dooku , sidious ,durge and some other people i forgot confed with robots robots and more robots ..............................rebuplic doodana  , palleon , palpatine plus some jedi and some space captains clones clones clones ................. and then maybe the black sun or some other pirate gang or a break off the confed or hutts....

old republic with exar kun , other sith and the krath ..........old republic jedis and others plus make some units up hahahahahahaha but there is enough magazines to make it

the sith / jedi wars 1000 years before the republic great darth bane books lots of info on units

lastly yuzong vong , fractured empire , republic and peace brigade if ya wanna do a 4 way maybe even put the hand in that because thrawn knew of the yuzong vong he was waiting for a species to come out a new he killed them because they had no art (could have been the vong)

you could do a thrawn one after he come back and was not killed or known yet have thrawn for imperial , republic , and the smugglers group

the new legacy comics has new (and old)sith imperials, jedi and the glac ,plus the imperial knights  who are loyal to some emporer who is a jedi who says you cant add the hand to thrawn would be fun

simple idea is read the books i got over 100 probably 200 i got more ideas but you probably already hate me so i will shut up
