Ideas for planets

(1/2) > >>

Illidan Stormrage:
So this is something i want to express becasuse i feel like Star wars needs more variety in the planets we see.
Most are either:
A: Mining planets
B: Casino or Cantina places
C: Deserts
D: Wastelands
E: Huge Mega Cities
F: Snow Planets

So i prepose that we each take the time to come up with a cool planet. (does not need a name but describe how it be)

So my idea is rather simple

Stomier(or maybe Stormon IV)
Climate: warm climate(IE: landmasses with rich soil and outposts on islands manned by Shoretroopers)
Planetary Goverment: A Imperial Obligargy(highly loyal Imperial world)
History: Once a world that had a pirate problem the planet had heavy Imperialization. The Planet does have some criminal activity in certain areas, but mostly on the less Imperialized area. Most criminals are spice and weapons dealers. The planet is alos the site of Tie fighter and Imperial Walker production. The main urban cities are guarded by small Imperial patrols while the more crimefill areas have some light walkers to fight off Black sun and other gangs. The planet also has a unqiue weather system.
Capital City: Morgram?
Unique feature: It has a city often describe as "Rat town" where criminals gather and plan. Its like a favela from Brazil but run mostly by criminals and most smugglers go to deal their. The Empire has made attempts to clear it out but this is one of the last criminal hotspots in the area. In addition the planet has a unique type of weather system where shields are require to protect cities and outpost from Tornadoes. Some farmers are too stubborn and just build their farm houses in the ground. The Empire often studies these storms to see what causes them and to test if the walkers could resist such storms. Every time a Tornado dissipates, more spawn which often leads to Empire delaying travel between locations. However rumors suggest that their are groups of extremists rebels who have personnel Vendettas against this planet hide out and cause many of the terrorist attacks on Imperial food storage and infrastructure. They believe to hide in these Tornado badlands in order to avoid the Empire. No one knows their motives but know they are not people from the planet.

Mika-Chan, A.I yandere:
Chan-prime of the clip-clip system

this planet is inhabited by chans with varying personalities and physical appearances
(gtg, have to change classes soon. will add more later)

This was an unfinished idea i think ill never continue

Mitthrawnuruodo:
A big rock planet with deep twisting cavern systems and natural electronic interference caused by the strength of the magnetic core. This makes it ideal for establishing secret bases and facilities - pirates and smugglers use the planet for hiding. But conducting warfare in the caves can be a nightmare when your sensors and communications are cut off. The planet was useful as a base for the Republic since the Droid Army couldn't operate in the caverns, but when the Galactic Civil War started, the Rebels attempted to establish bases which led to the "ghost war" with the Empire pushing deeper into the planet. Battalions have been lost with no trace, and there are myths that they survived and just carried on fighting each other down there.

Deep Thought:
Honestly, the first thought that came to mind was making sure you had the homeworlds of most of the established races in there. Homeworlds of the Zabrack and Echani come to mind, as they're two of my favorite races, and not widely known. Iridonia, home of the Zabrak is volcanic, so you have some variance there, and as for ice planets. Rhen Var wasn't in the last version:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rhen_Var

I'm going to spitball some with the lore on these, but here goes:

Name: Rhen Var
Races: (unknown)
Climate: Frigid
Planetary Government: (imperial leanings)
History: Site of an Imperial outpost, speculated to be used for training troops for cold environments.
Unique features: Ruins of an ancient civilization

Name: Eshan
Races: Echani
Climate: Temperate climate: sweeping plains, scattered mountain ranges, and low-key cities. (I heard somewhere it resembles Chandrila)
Planetary Government: Matriarchal, Clan based confederation
History: An often overlooked core world, Eshan is the homeworld of the Echani. A unique humanoid race with completely identical features. Echani have therefore learned to identify each other use micro-expressions and body language, and found hand-to-hand combat one of the sincerest and most insightful expressions of these things. It is a widely held Echani belief "you cannot truly know someone until you have fought them in combat" and make it a part of their social interaction. With combat as an art-form, Echani combat techniques are in a league of their own, anticipating their opponent's moves whole minutes ahead of their advent, like a game of chess. This skill, combined with their apparent blindness to the force, made them emperor Palpatine's ideal choice for his royal bodyguards during the reign of the Galactic Empire.
Capital City: Unknown
Unique features: Possible location of the Handmaiden order that served the Jedi in the Old republic days.

Name: Iridonia
Races: Zabrak, Triz, Zur, Reek (transplanted)
Climate: Harsh, Volcanic planet with Acid pools and seas, and deep, windy canyons with farmable land
Planetary Government: Dictatorship
History: Iridonia was the homeworld of the Zabrak species. Due to the harsh living conditions, the Zabrak developed into a hardy, resilient species. In like manner, their engineering and survival gear is renowned for being similarly resilient under the harshest conditions, making it a sought after commodity in many parts of the galaxy.
Capital City: Malidris
Unique Features: Sith Academy

Now, I will note you say "cool". But now that I see frozen worlds are on your "typical" list, I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for. Are you meaning like a rainy planet?

Deltarius:
WARNING: THIS ISZ JUST A JOKE(dont take this idea seriously)

In an Alternate timeline the space Soviets possess space tech hundreds of years beyond the u.s. the Kremlin chooses to colonize a distant planet. The name of said planet would be Space Moscow(really intuitive i know.)
