I just wish I would have found moddb sooner.
And I was searching for mods for a completely different game when I misclicked on the letter S and saw the news on 1.2 being released. I said "huh, a star wars mod. I'll check it out. Oh, to a star wars game as well... I didn't even know that there is a newer strategy game than Galactic Battlegrounds." I bought it in a store that day, installed it and played the tutorial. I decided that I like it, downloaded the mod and started playing.
So basically this mod is responsible for me playing EaW in the first place

i think i stumbled on it through a series of vidoes on Youtube. i was originally looking at republic at war, then it went to empire at war, and rolled downhill till i found this. have stuck with following it since

I think I was right in the middle of elementary (primary) school when I think I found FoTR on filefront. And now I'm in college and a tester so it's crazy how full circle life is.

I got into the modding community when I saw Shack play RaW, I downloaded AotR and didn't realize it messed with the main FoC folders and so I had to play it for a year and a half and no other mods before i finally figured out how to fix it. When ICW loaded up I legitimately cried tears of joy. Moral of the story, I don't understand computer files at all

for me, i say shack playing RaW, wanted to see what the original was, didn't like it, and then stumbled on AoTR then ICW, so so semi-same

I wrote a paper on how when I got ICW to work it was one of the greatest feelings of accomplishment I ever had

I've qualified and competed at state competition both years in high school for swimming, and I've lettered twice both years as well as getting about triple amount the points by myself that some entire teams get all together. I've been invited to festivals in NYC and Los Angeles for my writing and journalism papers. I've accomplished many things and I was just using that as an example because I'm very passionate about this game and this mod and I was just saying how I was proud of myself after a year and a half of frustration and disappointment over and over again

Speaking of lack of sleep, my journey of suffering has come to end for now. All Bs in my classes therefore making my 10 hours of sleep last week worth the pain. Pretty sure anymore and there would've been a hospital visit I was certainly functioning past my limit. My mother (medical professorial) was not too pleased.

I saw Shack play RaW, and then youtube suggested Corey's channel to me, and I think I saw ICW for the first time there. Although I also watched the entire playthrough of ICW as the NR at Shack's channel before downloading the mod. As for base EaW, I bought it at first when it was released in 2006, and have been playing it since occasionally. Easily the most-played game in my life, although eventually I just got sick of the base game and its two factions (three in FoC), and switched to mods. I wish I'd found ICW earlier.
