Trust me we agree. Kucsidave and I have a soft spot for those xenophobes
Honestly if you completely cut out the side-arc with Luke and the Fallanasi the Black Fleet Crisis trilogy was rather well-done. A competent villain that wasn't the Empire, and it handled the political intrigues/bloat of bureaucracy side a whole lot better than the prequels.
I'm way cooler though
I think that all those side-stories made the books lose focus and wrecked the pacing. They should have handled those in different books with the Yevethans getting their very own story. Maybe expanding it a little more to get to know them even more.
I always hoped for that...then they killed them offscreen-though I have no doubt they took a LOT of Vong with them as according to the sources they had nearly 10,000 Thrustships and some Imperial Designs above N'zoth. That must have been an insane battle.
Yeah. that could have been an epic battle. Two xenophobe race clashing in a fight to the death. I think it would have been interesting zo even write it from the Yevethan's POV to feel their desperation, and to see them as their very ideology crumbled as they lost battle after battle in the Koornach cluster. A cornered animal is even more dangerous than the one in the open. Then they really fight with all their might. An epic showdown like that really should have get more light. Also it would have gave a chance to look into the yevethan forces and characters even more.

So much wasted potential
So besides Thrustships what other Ships did the Yevethan build?
we know that they had at least the Victory-class, the Imperial-class, and the Immobilizer 418 which contradicts the info they haven't captured anything smaller than a victory. But they used one to capture Han Solo, so the must have them...Continuity errors
Between them and Space Dinos there's a lot of wasted potential.
