i still cant belive the emporer was conducting the fleet while watching vader and luke fight plus then dieing and regaining his clone body then floating to mara jade god that was one busy guy if his last thoughts where kill luke sykwalker you think the fleet would destroy everything that was there
He had Grand Admiral Niles Declaan assisting him with the Battle Meditation. As to the rest Palps was so powerful in the force he never needed sleep, he knew essence transfer and his sport was many schemes at once.

Or just give him the ability to build an even more limited quantity of them...  Having them spawn would give them an awful sudden boost of power that might not really be all that fair.  Going from almost nothing to a Praetor and an Executor off the bat?

Well seeing as how the NR will have the Lusankya, a massive superiority in numbers, planets, credits and the ability to build Viscounts to top it off, I'd say it's a fair balance.

I'd be happy with a single movie made without one of the actors being cast making me want to put a lightsaber up to my head and turn it on and off rapidly to labotomize myself rather than watching their excuse for acting.

I just noticed something else weird. When you destroy a building (i.e. a barracks) that belongs to the warlords, and the garrison troops come running out, any warlord units will attack and kill them. I'm not really sure why, but am guessing that it has something to do with the fact that the warlord buildings are the same as the IR buildings, just labelled differently.

Well wouldn't YOU switch sides if you had a choice when your side is losing?

Actually according to The Essential guide to Warfare the IR still had two SSDs left(though of unspecified class) and we even see one of these later above Bastion during the Vong War(I doubt they built one in the few years between wars as they barely had the ability to build ISDs) so perhaps to counter the viscount Pellaeon could have a Praetor spawn in his era and perhaps an Executor, but not as his flagship.

As far as combat goes, they'd wessentially be useless. They were meant to board an enemy ship and fight on them, they didn't function like starfighters. If they did they'd be much slower, and much weaker in both health and firepower. The buzzdroid function would be a possibility, but I'm not sure how useful even that would be.

Why not have a carrier that can dispense them in a wide cloud and can dump TIEs too(I'd suggest cloaking the carrier but as I remember the cloaks couldn't be done right in the mod for ships) the carrier could be exclusive to Thrawn's era, cheap and full of fighters and Spacetroopers it would be hell on the NR fighters and would give the Remnant a bit of a 1up in the fighter area over their opponents at least for awhile. The Troopers could cause auto damage on enemy fighters while the TIE's chewed them up.

A repair function like revanchist suggests, if it's possible (I remember something about hardpoints not repairing properly but I've never played around with the ability or FoC enough to remember) would be much better served by a proper fleet tender like the Hajen or Altor.

This could also be useful with a carrier ship that could dump the troopers(in the form of a cloud like the buzz droids from the original) only instead of damage they Repair injured friendlies.

Didn't Kuellor just use droids to crew Imperial Ships and vehicles?
(I have not read the New Rebellion, though I think I shall when I get back in.)

Spacetroopers do sound intriguing...how to balance them though? They would be cut to pieces by fighters. Spacetroopers have powerful attacks but would have very little health and speed compared to the other space units.
If they came on a carrier and could be dispersed close to enemy capital ships to do close range damage perhaps...do you have any suggestions Revanchist?

Well, I've already finished the 1.4 Art of War campaign, so now I can wait in  patience for 2.0 and new heroes.
Besides, I still have other mods to play - latest Alliance 4.5.4 (awaits trying) and Phoenix Rising 1.2 (already started, but after first few sniffs into it I'm gonna start it anew, as that was mostly to see how its new stuff works and where...).



I say, you mean you just finished 1.3 do you not?

Don't know if anyone mentioned this, but when you order the New Republic infantry to take cover, one of them crouches and the others start running in place!! :o

But of course they do, exercise is important in the NR.

Empire of the Hand. You guys built most of their units from scratch, they have the most unique faction of the three playable factions and are a legacy of the original Empire so definitely them!

You can't do it without it being either overpowered or useless.

Yes Senza is right. It's even been brought up in a few other posts I think. It would a be a very interesting aspect added to gameplay if it was feasible, but sadly it is not.

Basically that the units that only one group would or should have wouldn't be available to the faction if it's meant to be representing another group, so for example Teradoc wouldn't get Raptors and TIE Raptors.

Ah I see. That would be useful in helping distinguish each warlord.

I've never been a big fan of the Dark Empire graphic novels but I did like some of the units like the Shadow Droids, they seem deliciously diabolical and the Empire could indeed do well with some of those cyborg nightmares. I look forward to getting my hands on them.

More important than era progression is probably being able to split it between different subfactions (Teradoc, Zsinj, Pentastar, etc for Warlords, for example)

What do you mean? More individuality for those factions or for their units?

i hate ssd but i use other capital ships to bring down shields then let my bombers do the resti am amazed how much damage a x wing can do now

Well they are the fighters that took down two Death Stars, countless Imperial capital ships and fighters and were the basic bane of the Empire and any other enemy of the Rebellion and later NR, I'd expect them to pack a punch.
