Star Wars Discussion / Re: Rouge One=Racist and stupid things?
« on: October 27, 2016, 01:24:07 PM »
Guys, guys. You all miss the point.
How the heck could be stereotypes in star wars?
Those are not even asians/africans yada yada. They are not even from earth to begin with. if this does not tell everyone that this is a joke thread nothing will.
No I understood that, that's why I liked the post. I was just saying that people analysis Star Wars in very strange ways.

662
Then of course don't forget the Starcraft series.

Another series I haven't "played", I think I played the first one at a cousin's house a long time ago but I haven't touched it since.

The Total War games are quite good (most). It feels nice.
If you are into micro-management I recommend Europa Universalis IV, Hearts of Iron IV, or stellaris if you want to stay space(though Stellaris is the weakest if you ask me).
If you are willing to try older games as well Warcraft 3
C&C 3 Tiberium wars and the Kane's wrath expansion are also very good.
The Civilisation series is quite good as well.
What else...
Oh, I almost forgot the old Age of Empires series and the Empire Earth series.

Let's just say, I am a big Strategy game fan.
And I am sure quite a few good ones skip my mind at the moment.
Edit: I knew it. Heroes of Might and Magic. 3-5 are the best ones of the series
Yeah I do enjoy the total war series, I could never get into Europa I need to get a better grasp on it mechanics, and stellaris is the weakest of the three. Hearts of Iron 4 is super fun once you learn the game I tried getting into Hearts of iron 3 but I didn't have the time to learn it. So I'll probably play it this summer

664
Other than Sins and EAW. Just to name a few games, I like the war-game series especially Red Dragon, RUSE, Hearts of Iron 4, Civ 5 ( I haven't been able to pick up 6). These are probably my most recently played Strategy games. I was hoping to see what other strategy games the community plays to see if I can compile a master list of good Strategy games.

LOL I really like this post! However there are people who interpret star wars movies in this sort of fashion. Some of their claims do have a good foundation. Ie Galactic republic/ Empire being the US or Nazi government. I find these sorts of things fascinating.

That's quite a while. Welcome to the posting world.
Yes it is, I was in the stream today, great stream. I was maybe in third or fourth grade when I first discovered your work. Its crazy to actually think about that amount of time. Thank you for welcoming me, and thank you and your team for the hours and hours of entertainment that Thrawn's revenge has given me

I have been posting here for a couple days now, so I thought I might introduce myself. Even though I am new to the forums, I am not new to EAW, I've been following Corey's work since his attempt at a clone wars mod (Fall of the Republic I think?). I am a University student  so I won't be able to spend long period of time on the forums often. I can't wait to meet and get to know everyone!

Well there goes my plan to be the Ssi Ruuvi Imperium lol
Well I am mean you could still technically be them if we were to set it up as a crisis situation

hmmm how about we change it to post Endor with everyone being a member of the imperial ruling council/committee of moffs
we are each in charge of a sector and or planet. I start by posting a crisis and people will post how to combat it in their "Speech"
That could work, now we just have to gather members. It would be cool if we could play ascendancy and this at the same time. As sort of a sim

Fine our first MUN will be post endor
Rules: Anyone can be any warlord. if a dev joins this they get Eoth over others. No unrealistic super weapons (as in if they don't have the resource they cant.
You can claim any sector. No dark empire unless agree by everyone

I get first choice: I'm greater Maldrood and I control The Greater Maldrood.
Ill probably be the chair in this case, but I will probably have a character picked out for this session. Before we start establishing our delegates we need to figure out the logistics, how are we going to "meet" and give speeches, notes to the chair other delegates etc ,how are we going to even come up with a warlord council since most of them hated each other.  That sort of thing\

A star wars theme can be post Endor(legends) with many factions
Oh this was in the Republic era, right before the clone wars, Im sure you can do a warlord esc council with MUN rules

This is a idea I came up with a few days ago where we will have a Model UN like thread.
IF this kicks off well we will do Things where Members will choose a nation and be that nation(We will discuss conflicts and crisis form all over).
We will start off doing a European Theme 1 then maybe a Arab league 1.
This would be fun if we could do this so
Whoever is in post in the chat "I am In"
for you to be in this
Ah Model UN, I was in MUN class for three years in high school and probably have to take another one next semester in college. What a fun but stressful subject.
My MUN teacher did do a star wars setting once and it was pretty fun, I might still have the paper if you are interested.
I might be in if my time permits it. And remember MUN is FUN!

As Ashoka Said "their is always truth to legends"
And btw when you said a "new take" I laugh out loud so much. Episode 7 is Jar Jar Abrams rip off of a new hope. And Adam Driver said the next movie is basically empire strikes back....soooooooo. No they really just are doing it to capitalize the youth. They don't give a Shit about you, me, Dave, Lord Xizer (My lord and Savior), Corey, and the others. To them we are lazy Pc losers who always complain at what they do with star Wars(which is not true)

It really is sad because we have the same old same old and Very very very very very crappy star wars games.
If only they cared Which Explains why they Kick Dave Floine Off Rebels as supervisor and screw him over since he is not helping guide how Thrawn should be .

Update: forgot to list Revanchist sorry man your still a important person in the community and a good friend.
Okay fair enough I will give you that, though I personally liked the new movie it was pretty similar to the new hope. I should've thought it through with my reasoning though. I was aiming toward the "filler" movies in between the big three. I personally think that if George Lucas was still in control of Star Wars, the series would probably worse off. Of course they don't care about us, The OG, for the lack of a better term.
Even though I am new to the Forum I am not new to Star Wars, Thrawn's revenge, all of that stuff.
Overall yes I do agree with you 100%, and it disappoints me that star wars is going in this direction.
And yes we are just  "Admirals, lords, and guests just rambling on star wars cannon" lol

Same here. Unfortunately we are a dying breed, as soon no one will remember our Star Wars.
Indeed we are certainly a dying breed, but we can only hope that they will bring some of the EU characters into the actual characters. It seems like they are just scrapping and redoing the Warlord era, with the battle of Jakku and the rise of the First
Order. It would be pretty easy comprise just to throw in the biggest warlords ( Imperial leaders in the era system for Thrawn's revenge) in that 30 year gap between 6 and 7. Though I can understand why they want to start over though, in order to make more money, and to take a new take on it. I think if they just kept the same thing it wouldn't be as interesting to the  general public, which is their target audience. But I am pretty disappointed that EU knowledge is becoming "lost" knowledge.

But my point is Maldrood will have much smaller ships because some heroes are recruit able my plan is simple.
1: Secure my borders
2: build a Crimson Command fleet and some ISDs
3: attack Kashyyk and help Grand Admiral Syn, Webaca, Moff Darc, and Pekt.
4: Attack NR and Zisnj.
5: take the Galaxy
Oh, I understand now, I haven't been really caught up with the Maldrood faction that sounds like a good plan.

See what I usually have a list of things I like to do as a warlord.
1. Secure my borders with all my starting forces
2. With planets far behind my front lines I turn them into credit producing worlds
3.Then start building my navy and ground forces
The only problem with star destroyer spam is that it can be easily countered by the AI if you do not use it in the proper manner, have proper support ships, or just wrap them in on top of the enemy defenses. My fleet makeup is usually made up of a couple ISDIIs, two escort ships (anything above ISDs but below SSD) then my capital ship (Hero SSD or build-able SSD) Then I fit my frigates in. This is why I enjoy playing as the Pentastar Alignment since they have the Preator II. With these new factions and ships I can expand my horizons a bit
