Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Re: ICW Daily Screenshots Thread

I'm totally fine with a Rey/Poe relationship, and I'm somewhat expecting something to happen there just from their introduction at the end of TLJ - it reeked of "nice to meet you, sexy awesome person I've only heard good things about" from both sides.  I don't know that such a relationship is really needed for either of their characters, though, and it's always possible that it will be badly handled, so if they're going to do it they need to make sure it feels right - especially if they go the route of having us come into ep. IX with them already together, rather than letting us see the start of the relationship.

edit: And my last word on the Mark Hamill discussion is simply his own words:

Anyone who wants to call Hamill a liar is free to do so, but I'm done arguing the topic.

Pali, you already know that this isn't a good answer for the people who those accusations they'll think whatever they want to think even if its irrational lol. But I'm on your side with it.

Fun fact Mark Hamill had creative differences with Lucas as well. Its a very common thing. My opinion OT Luke is the best, then Sequel Luke, then Legends Luke. Legends Luke is just really not true to the character.

I really liked it, it had its flaws and I can see why people didn't like it. But it doesn't change my opinion on it.

Star Wars Discussion / Re: Reviewing Battlefront 2 EA honestly

Dude, put a spoiler tag when doing this thing, or just delete the spoilers part. Not everyone can finish the game at the same time, or even have the game.

I will forever use this thread to show why new star wars fans will never want to explore legends.

News & Updates / Re: 2.2 Ability Preview: Capturing Ships (With FAQ)
« on: November 18, 2017, 03:59:38 PM »
Now this Ability is going to be important and interesting to use when people want to make a Roleplay in the mod. But anyway two questions I now have is Will the transport be able to board Alliegnse's Sacetor's and Perator 2's abd any other ships that fit with the ability?
"500 meters and 2000 meters" is the length that you'll be able to capture as it says in the description. So no you'll not be able to capture those ships.

Thats a unfair statement. Your comapring a game from 2005 to a game in 2017, of course the gameplay will be awful. The reason why BF2's campagin is ulitmaelty more disapointing since we were give expectations and hyped up, but that tunred out to be all for nothing. I wish they could just retcon some of this shit, like make it all a dream that Iden had after joining the First Order. THat be fucking stupid, but i take that over anything else.(Or maybe brainwashing that be a sick plot twist)
Dont worry BF2 was bad with games during that time too imo

52
That's because the original BF2 story wasn't about drama, it was about context. It was the voice of one soldier amongst many, which is the point of Battlefront, you play as expendable grunts that are a dime a dozen. You die, you respawn as another grunt, but your grunt's life isn't important, it's the objective that's important. The plot of old BF2 reflected that, it was about the macrocosm; you're fighting to build the Empire, and it's a fight we hadn't seen in detail before.

What people wanted in the new BF2 story was to fight to build the First Order. They got shafted with a predictable defection story set during events we mostly already know about.
See you make it out to be this big thing, but it really isnt though. Its just a boring story, on top of that the gameplay is fucking awful. If you want a good story about grunts, Gundam 08th MS team is the way to go.

53
I watched the battlefront 2 story and while its cliche, its still alot better than the classic BF 2 story.

Star Wars Discussion / Re: Did Ea shoot themselves in the foot with BF2?

Epic Star Cards, the highest tier of Star Cards available at launch, have been removed from Crates. To help keep everyone on a level playing field, these Star Cards will primarily be available through crafting, with the exception of special Epic Star Cards available through pre-order, deluxe, and starter packs.
You'll need to reach a certain rank to craft upgraded Star Cards. You won't be able to buy a bunch of Crates, grind everything up into crafting materials, and immediately use them to get super powerful Star Cards. You can only upgrade the ability to craft higher tier Star Cards by ranking up through playing the game.
Weapons are locked behind specific milestones. While a select few will be found in Crates, the rest can only be attained by play. Want to unlock a new weapon for your Heavy? Play as a Heavy and you’ll gain access to the class’s new weapons.
Class-specific gear and items can be unlocked by playing as them. As you progress through your favorite class, you’ll hit milestones granting you class-specific Crates. These will include a mix of Star Cards and Crafting Parts to benefit your class’s development.

Anything without shields would be a giant waste of time.
If we wanted to build a fully loaded ISD from today's technology it would take centuries to even begin getting close to the tech. Assuming FTL travel is possible.

I didn't mean to defend Visceral Studios or paint EA as the bad guy here, the information provided simply doesn't give that much input regarding what the game was, what they intended to do or what EA disliked about it... so there isn't anything beyond mere speculation what has driven them to trash the current version of the game or close down Visceral in the first place, besides them apparently being a money sink. At least they didn't can it completely, and jumping to conclusions, like the VICE article does, is just clickbait in my opinion... SP isn't dead, like he writes in his own article: stuff like Uncharted still gets put out, Witcher 3 was a big hit, the new Assassin's Creed probably will be. It's one of the reasons I dislike some of what VICE does, their articles are mostly purely opinion pieces from people who sometimes don't seem to have a clue about what they're writing. Doesn't mean they don't have the occasional good documentary once in a while, although a few years back they were definitely on a better course.
Okay, I got what you are saying there. I should probably state, that its entirely my opinion. So my bad on that.
and while I agree with you on the VICE angle he does bring up a good points however. He is also a senior reporter on gaming with having 10 years of experience in the field. So while the number might not mean much it is enough to put faith in his article on what he is saying is correct. And with those examples he said that they have to be the literal best in their field or else they fail. Which I agree on, if it was just mediocre or even if it was good but missed the market it'd fail.

Hmm, there's still BioWare left and they didn't do that badly ;>. Seems that after their BF Hardline disaster, they were kept on a short leash already. Though, I would've liked some old-school linear action game without any of the sandbox and lootcrate elements nowadays' games all seem to include - the statement they've given is the typical, ordinary PC version of "visceral didn't do what we told them to do" with not much to take from it other than the cancellation itself, who knows if it was really that bad, didn't fit the EA concept of milking players dry (hehe, I had to ;>) or if their test players were just delusional. However, with the new movies being released over the next years, I dare to claim we won't have a shortage of SW games anyway ;>, so maybe they put the good elements of it to good use in other upcoming titles.

EDIT: Wow, VICE has become even more hipster. Didn't know that was possible.
I mean you can't simply say that it probably wasn't that bad. If it wasn't that bad they would've put it out there anyway. To me it seems like a pretty simple cut and dry case of it wasn't going to do well so we cut it.
Also that is an opinion piece of one person not VICE's official article. and in my opinion they bring up many good points.
