Imperial Civil War Tech Support / SaveGame crashes other games

So I just ran into this issue, and thought I'd post in case anyone else sees the same thing.

I was playing a game last night, saved and it crashed to desktop, no error, no nothing.  NO surprise, that save is corrupted and attempting to load crashes the game.  However, I found that if I started a new game, and attempted to save, it would crash to desktop without any errors still.  Uninstalled/reinstalled (steam), no change.  So went through and deleted the known corrupted savegame, and now everything works correcty again.

Not sure if this is a side affect of the fix that PetroGlyph is working on, or another issue entirely, but thought I'd post in case anyone was seeing the same issue.

So, my ancient desktop that's been upgraded a billion times to try to keep it usable finally has a replacement coming.  Saw that the Inspiron 5675 on ebay dropped about $100, so finally picked it up.

AMD Ryzen-7 1700X
8 GB ram (I'll upgrade that to 16 immediately)
1 TB 7200rpm HDD (I'll swap the 960 GB SSD in my existing desktop for that)
8 GB AMD RX580
Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Upgrading from a
AMD FX-8320
32 GB ram
960 GB SSD
2 GB GTX 760
Debian 9 + Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

I had noticed that the GTX 760 was reaching it's limitations in most games.  It just wasn't very smooth at almost anything new, and even in ICW with the lastest updates it was starting to lag pretty awful.  Looking forward to being able to play it smoothly again!!

So I've been playing a few other mods recently (Interegnum, Armada III, Sins of a Galactic Empire, Sacrifice of Angels 2), and wanted to see if anyone else plays Interregnum and what you thought.


Personally, I REALLY enjoyed this mod for ~25 minutes.  Then started nocicing that almost EVERYTHING required you to research "captain" level supply...so that in order to research things, you have to sacrifice your income, thus making it harder to do research.  At that point I realized I thought this was possibly the dumbest mod I've ever played and uninstalled it.

So got my new laptop in last week, and finally figured out what my issue was with getting it finished configuring today, so it's finally done.

Dell Latitude E5450

Intel Core-i5 5300u
16 GB DDR3
500 GB 7200 rpm
1080p 14"
Intel 802.11AC wireless
Intel gigabit NIC

Running Debian Jessie (8.0) AMD64 dual booting with Windows 8.1 pro-64 (with classic shell to make it usable)

Windows still missing some drivers and software, but linux is fully up and running, and that's the important thing.

So, playing a Final Imperial Push GC, 80% finished.  Had one of my Executors trading blows with a space whale, when I tried saving since I had to go out.  Game crashed, no biggie I thought.  Came back and tried to load it, both the samegame and the autosave got corrupted in the crash.  :'(

Was playing FTGU as the PA.  Took a LONG time to get moving, but eventually managed to start making progress.  Managed to make it all the way to week 154 before it finally froze, had 2 cap-ship yards (Yaga Minor and Bilbringi), had destroyed 1 of the 4 Sovereigns the IR can build, 4/7 Executors (1 of which I had to attack and destroy to take Bilbringi, that wasn't a pleasant fight, cost me 2 Praetors, 3 ISD-II's, 3 VSD-II's, 3 VSD-I's and several Acclamators to take that planet).

Speaking of Defenders, are we going to see more or less selection in fighters for Ascendency?  I would assume less, considering that there's no plans to do the Era tree type of deal as in ICW, but what can we expect to see from the IR and NR?  I assume Tie/Ln, Tie/In, Tie/Sa and Tie/D for the Remnant and X-Wing, A-Wing, Y-Wing, B-Wing for the republic?  Or will be there be more?

Imperial Civil War Tech Support / 2.1 Bug Report

Figured I'd start one to get the bugs that we've found so far posted.  Started an infinities as the PA, and found these:

One that I found that wasn't caught until after the Betas was over is Wayland has only 2 reinforcement points, and with those 2, has a maximum amount of 7 units.

I could be wrong on this, but it seems in my playing so far that Blastboats spawned from Muni's are considered relevant for victory (you have to hunt them down and kill them to win, since spawned fighters weren't supposed to be anymore)

BTW, is FTGU supposed to get like 10 attacks per week from the AI?  I've given up on that save game because it took 6 hours of actual playing to get from week 45 to 50 due to literal constant attacks.  No more than finish a battle, go back to Galactic, and a popup for "space battle at wherever.  Was really fun playing this for a while, but the constant attacks killed it.

So, decided to start the testing, and I haven't used FOC on this pc in a while, keep getting

Win7 64-bit.  Installed from gold disc so already 1.1.  MP/Ram patch applied.

Was playing Essence of War as the PA.  Was probably 1/2 way done, and something weird happened.  The game didn't FREEZE, per say, as I could still move all my units, but they wouldn't interact.

As in, I moved a fleet to Mon Calamari to try to battle it, it unlocked the planets that Mon Cal are attached to, and it showed my fleet and a NR fleet setting above the planet.  No battle.  I moved to another planet and same thing.  Was only on week 65, so seems a bit early for the freeze, but I've never seen this happen on the game before.

So, wanting to try some SW mods for this to whet my appetite for Ascendency.  I know of Sins of a Galactic Empire and Requiem both are supposed to be updated to work with Rebellion.  Am I missing any?

Gotta admit, the vanilla game is fun, but WOW, are most of the ships boring looking.
