I was reading my copy of Imperial Handbook and I came across this little gem.
It's produced by http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rothana_Heavy_Engineering  (look at the products it produced ;) )
It is basically made by putting two Peacekeeper together http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/IM-455_modular_garrison.

According to my book, a Peacekeeper has 3 twin turbolaser turrets, 6 heavy laser cannon turrets, and 36 TIE among other things.
The Hexostar would have at least 6 twin turbolaser turrets, 12 heavy laser cannon, and 72 TIEs.
It is similar to the Hive of Empire of the Hand.
It is no Empress or Validusia, but it is something Imperials could deploy quickly and the heavy laser cannons with the complement of an ISD's TIE wing make it more suitable against factions like NR. It certainly can not stand up against real warships bigger than a Nebulon-B or two though.

How will she be handled?
Both subclasses have the same armament except for the 'chin' arrangement (cleft under the front section); the Raider I have 'cluster missiles' and the II have a heavy ion cannon in addition to a dual light turbolaser and 6 dual heavy laser turrets. (Age of Rebellion source)

I don't think she should be like the CR90 or IPV-I; a pure laser boat. Several of the Raiders supporting Imperial/Warlord starfighters will be able to contest other faction starfighters very well enough.

So we have this for her armament in the new canon;
60 Heavy Turbolaser batteries
6 dual heavy turbolasers
2 quad heavy turbo laser
3 triple medium turbolaser turrets
2 Dual medium turbolasers
2 point defense cannons
60 ion cannon
2 dual heavy ion cannons

If you noticed it, there's 13 more turbolaser cannons (the medium turbolaser ones) and the 60 turbolaser batteries are heavy. (Compared to our TR's ISD I 's 60 'normal' turbolaser batteries). And 4 'heavy' ion cannons.
That's a 25-30% increase in firepower.

So....what does that mean for the Imperial Star Destroyer Duece? Why was she built in the first place? ISD II is in the new canon too, but her loadout hasn't been specified canonically.

Her current HP stats are:
Capital Shield: 3150
Hull: 2520

MC80B:
Capital Shield: 5625
Hull: 6000

ISD Mark I:
Capital Shield: 5000
Hull: 5000

Would an increase of 600 HP to her shield and maybe 240HP to her hull be reasonable? From 3150 to 3750 for shields, from 2520 to 2760 for hull?

It has been brought up that ships will be getting their pulses halved to reduce on FX needs.
Does this mean the damage output will be reduced proportionally?
Will the ships' health amount remain same?-> (example: a small battle can take 5 minutes to resolve, with the tweak it can take 10 minutes or so with same ships)
Antistarfighter ships are not included in the tweak (CR90, IPV-I, Lancer, and Asdroni), are there any other ship that would be exempted from the tweak?

Mod team has said they're looking into changing the AF's armament to be closer to the Saga Edition loadout which is 3x light turbolaser batteries, 4x quad turbolaser batteries, and 3x turbolaser batteries. What loadout they would have picked will be much more faithful to the Dreadnaught's firepower which it was supposed to have inherited.

So what do you think of this upcoming change?

With this possible change in the loadout, is there a strong case for swapping out the Dreadnaught from the NR roster for another ship?

Would you miss the laser batteries?

Looking over the ship roster of the New Republic. I don't know if anyone had realized it but until Era 4/5 the NR have only the MC40a for ion cannon firepower below the capital ships. At Era 4 you have Sanchen gunship and Corana Frigate, Era 5 the Bothan Assault Cruiser for ion cannon firepower available to Light and Heavy Frigate shipyards.

So until Era 4, you have to rely on capital ships to provide ion cannons to knock down other ships shield quickly if not starfighters like B-Wings and Y-Wings (well, the proton torpedo helps a lot) or depend on MC40a a lot more.

IR has Carrack and Vindicator for Light shipyard, Strike Class Cruiser and VSD II for Heavy shipyard.
PA has Enforcer and Vindicator for Light Shipyard, VSDII and Munificent Star Frigate for Heavy Shipyard.
EotH has Decimator (era 4/5) for Light Shipyard, Warlord (again, Proton Torpedoes; big damage multiplier against shields) and Chaf for Heavy Shipyard.

So what does this mean for you as a NR admiral? Well, you could always invest in capital ships but that take time! and lots of credits! What about building up starfighters with ion cannons and proton torpedoes? Certainly doable! But expect casualties and micromanage when the OpFor has heavy antifighter corvettes/frigates. At least from a material standpoint, starfighters are CHEAP and *cough* expendable *cough*. Good news is that MC40a should be getting her population count reduced in 2.2!

Hello there! I will be doing a little sort of a series on a listing on the damage output and hitpoint of starships. First up will be the starships available to 1st Tier/Light Frigate Shipyard ofHealth and Firepower information on ships of 4 major factions of all tiers are available now. All of the data is taken from the manual, the mod files, and this section http://thrawnsrevenge.com/factions/ current with mod version 2.1/2.15.  If there are any error, please let me know.

As you can see the weapon stats below show that Proton Torpedo tear down Shields almost as well as Ion Cannons does, but if you want to take down the shipyard with extreme prejudice bring a boatload of the torpedoes! Turbolaser hit frigate type shield hard but not as hard as the hull of the starships.

DPV is Damage Per Volley (Total sum of Pulses from a hard point between recharges)
DPS is Damage Per Second (DPV is divided by the recharge time to find this value)
The multiplier number next to them is an indication for the total of hardpoints of the particular weapon on the ship. So, to figure out the total firepower of your ship; multiply the DPV/DPS by the hardpoint number and add together all weapons mounted on it (ion cannon may be separated as it affects only the shields). Not all of the hardpoints will always fire on the same target and over the course of the battle the total firepower of your ship can be decreased by loss of hardpoints.

Dual multiply the base damage of the weapon by 2, Quad by 4, and Octo by 8, straightforward.

Ion Cannon always damages shield in full (no positive/negative multiplier). They don't damage hull/hardpoints (to my knowledge).

Maser Cannon and Megamaser have the same recharge time and multipliers as Laser Cannon and Turbolaser do; Maser Cannon differs in that it has increased base damage over Laser Cannon.

Missiles have a longer recharge time than the direct-fire cannons (base 4 sec vs 15 sec).

The plus number next to the HP amount for the shield stat is the refresh rate at which it recovers shield HP. Also, it's no wonder many of the ships on EotH lineup are tough: their shielding are of capital type strength!

Been researching Wookiepedia. So it look like my typical fleet composition for the Imperial Remnant Navy would consist of;
Force Superiority 'unit' (3 Battles Squadrons)
3 ISD
18 Heavy Cruiser/Larger or 36 Light Cruisers/Frigates
12-30 Corvettes/Fast Frigates

What composition do you usually go with? For IR, after going over the Imperial Navy organization in Wookiepedia, I went with 4 Victory as the core unit of the fleets to hold the line with smaller ships to support them. This free up Imperial II Star Destroyers for my attack fleets (6 as core).

I'm wondering what's the point of those two ships especially with the laser cannon loadout they have?

For the New Republic, most of their ships carry starfighters that are of a good quality. Several of their ships have some laser cannons also. Instead of 2 dual turbolaser turrets and 4 turbolaser cannons, you have this 30/6 dual laser cannon loadout for CR90?


PA has Enforcer Picket Cruiser, though for some reason having 2/2 Quad Laser Cannon instead of 10?
IPV-1 doesn't have hyperdrive and is usually armed with 4 turbolasers and a launcher. So what's with the nutty loadout of 60/6 dual laser cannons on her? If there's need for an anti-starfighter corvette, wouldn't bringing back Tartan make better sense? She carried less laser cannons (single rather than Quad) than Lancer, has a slower hyperdrive so her cost in material would be less than that of the Lancer. She has a smaller crew too, saving on manpower concerns for the PA.

Or.... it's two ships (the rebel transport and a possible starfighter blurring together in that shot) that just happen to resemble a MC30....

Hello, I got gifted with Empire At War Gold Pack a couple weeks ago. I have been watching Thrawn's Revenge mod on Youtube for a fair bit before that. I have the mod and been playing a good bit

Now to my main goal of this post. I want to discuss ships, their variants (there are a few things like Carrack having two varaints; one which is presented in the mod with the ion cannons and the other version has laser cannons in place of Ion cannons but is not presented in the mod at the present) and suggesting them for the mod if they haven't been suggested or explained already.
