Lambda is already in.

Are you sure ? Which GC ? Which planet ?

The sub mod I'm working on will add Grunger, Pitta, Central Committee of Grand Moffs, and Drommel on their respective planets of Gargon, Mandalore, Corellia, Tralus, Kessel and Sollux respectively with their forces. All will be under the generic Warlords AI and have lore accurate forces.

As I said, I'm looking forward to it ;)

Our primary focus, in terms of additional Warlord forces for 2.3, will be on including the other Grand Admirals where we can. It will also depend heavily on which GC it is.

Too bad, my favorite is Osvald Teshik and there's no way he gonna be in ICW :'( :P ;)

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / More little warlord planets ?
« on: June 12, 2018, 02:54:44 AM »

Hello all,

There's already some single planets controled by small warlords and in certain conditions you can appropriate their heroes. Would you like to have more of them ?

Lambda Sector and Kathol Sector would be nice add to ICW's lore but in gameplay perspective they may not seems the best choices.

There's also Empire Reborn that if located in the Lenico Belt (their base in Jedi Knight II), could be used to give more heroes to Pentastar (I am not sure they need them) but that would be odd to have them in Era 1. Maybe locking the planet until Era 4 but I am not sure it would be worth it. Same can be applied for Kaarenth Dissension/Restored Empire and make them spawn in Era 5 (or just in Orinda Campaign, I think Corey mentionned something like that).

Is there other you want to see or you think there's already enough in 2.2 ?

Ascendancy Discussion / Re: Political leader for the NR ?
« on: June 10, 2018, 03:29:59 AM »

Thank you for your answer, I tought that was not feasible but now I know why and that's very enlightening. To bad for the hero limit, I am little frustrated to have only one capital ship hero for the NR (hey there's still a remaining slot  ).

Always hard to believe the amount of work carried, thanks guys, particulary Slornie, I am really looking forward the new manual :D .

Legends is a brand for Disney equal to "not ours", within it there's various timeline, more details here : You'll see they wanted to merge it to a point it became unbearable and that Nathan P. Butler, but also Leland Chee, had given up to that and put two separate timelines to chose. Lucasfilm didn't bother to make it full and exclusively canon for their new Story Group because of the multiple novels and comics related to it they didn't want to add to their canon. But it's hard to deny this serie was a reboot of the Clone Wars period pre-2008 and they tried to fit everything with forceps to not displease the fans (that didn't worked). So instead of "Legends", you may read "former storyline" or "pre-2008 Legends timeline"

Contradiction or replacement are not indeed unique to TCW but the serie created more than 90% of them as Filoni liked to take content from the EU without respecting it. Unlike the other authors (including Lucas) who created their own things that sometimes contradicted with previous stuff. Sort of difference between malevolence and inefficiency, there's one I can stand, not the other. The worst is that he then defended himself by "all had been approved by Lucas". Other authors like Veicht and KJA used to call for Lucas to allow them more liberties but that was to create for in depht stories and more original content, not to twist other people's creations.

Little things from TCW would not bother me but that change for Ventress... That's not the same character in fact ! Not the same species, not the same physical appearance, not the same personality, not the same (back)story,...

For the EGtW, I've got a quick look, not seen anything regarding Ventress but the Battle of Boz Pity is mentioned and if going with TCW, this battle couldn't have happened the way it did in the Republic comics serie for Ventress.

Well you do what you want, that's your mod after all. You'll even likely to get more public with more TCW content, with all these young who grew up watching it. The point of my question was just to know if there was ingame motivation for this description or if you just took inspiration from Wookieepedia (which replaced pre-2008 stuff by 2008-2014 stuff when the two contradicted).

Ascendancy Discussion / Political leader for the NR ?
« on: June 09, 2018, 03:35:53 AM »

You all know that the IR had three choices for political leader, what if it was the same for the NR.
Pro: that would give better replayablity, more diversity in games, wether you are playing NR or against it
Con: the NR have already all the units it needs and such change would maybe need to had new units to Ascendancy

But the major changes would probably be in technology and just a unique unit and a unique hero roster to each leader would be sufficient, for example:
 - Mon Mothma would have a doctrine more oriented on battleship (unique unit: MC80 Home One) with heroes like Ackbar (MC90), Nantz (MC80 Home One) and Hiram Drayson (MC80 Liberty ?)
 - Leia Organa would have a doctrine more oriented to fighter support (unique unit: Defender-class carrier) with heroes like A'baht (Endurance), Solo (MC80b) and Antilles (ISD)
 - Borsk Fey'lya would have a doctrine more oriented to small ships (unique unit: BAC) with heroes like Sovv (Dauntless), Kre'fey (BAC) and Bel Iblis (Dreadnaught)

What do you think, that much sub-factions would be worth balancing for extra diversity ?

I know you will use heroes from TCW, but giving Ventress her TCW description instead of her Legends one is another thing (thankfully Grievous have his correct one). Is that because you intend to use the Nightsisters Arc ingame ?

Star Wars Discussion / Re: Do you plan on watching Solo?
« on: June 08, 2018, 05:55:54 AM »

Seems the disatisfaction created by the Disneylogie is paying, Solo isn't working well. There's (unrelated ?) rumors that KK will left Lucasfilm in September but I am afraid it will be someone from the same folder that will replace her. I still hope for a change in the (scorched earth) policy regarding the Legends.

Great, you've covered all (and much more) the things I've found unbalanced.

I'll watch the video later :) .

Star Wars Discussion / Is that Firmus Nantz in Mutiny at Mon Cala ?
« on: June 07, 2018, 05:39:28 AM »

Issue #45 of Marvel's ongoing Star Wars had some cameo. And I think here it's Nantz with Willard (a General present in Legends novel Razor's Kiss) :

Sorry for this Larroca's art, but here's more and far worst if you want  :

Marvel is definetely not Dark Horse and the time of good comics is now behind us. But anyway, what's your thoughts on this "Nantz" ?

My expectations were as always with Disney SW movies : Will be not as good as Lucas' movies, will be not as good Legends stories but still may be good.

Entertainment with some good ideas gives a just above average movie for me. For some (at least four big) reasons it will never be my vision of Han's early adventures but as just a movie, it's OK.

It's good to show them what you do not like but I wish people show them what they like too. There's many people "boycotting" but on the other hand there's just a handful of dedicated fans who support the Legends.

I didn't go to watch TLJ because there was no way it could have been good after what did TFA. But as I liked Rogue One I gave a try to this one as friends who see it before me say it was in the same range.

Star Wars Discussion / Solo [WITH SPOILER]
« on: May 24, 2018, 10:35:58 AM »

I've seen the movie yesterday. I've found it a little bellow Rogue One with a start I found not much interesting and a bad ending but the rest (from the time Chewie joins to the time Lando left) was good. If there wasn't that ending and the appearance of Maul, well it would may the best Disney movie so far for me. Well see if the next spin-off (Obi-Wan ?) can do better.

The Legends fans would see some references to Lando's trilogy from the 80s. Other specific topic in the movie you want to discuss ? Feel free :)

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Re: 2.2 Unit Review
« on: May 11, 2018, 05:09:58 AM »
Corona is fine as a carrier but since it costs 2 pop instead of one I would not put it at the same rank as the Nebulon which it ironically is supposed to replace.

You can blame me on this one but I thought that a 1-pop cap ship that spawn 2 E-Wing squadrons and 1 B-Wing squadron was way too powerful. Look like the dev team agreed as they changed it.

Endurance Class Star Destroyer 4/5
Well in era 4 if you want to build a carrier fleet this is one ship you can use. It only cost 6 points and it is reasonably tough and can take a bit of a beating (compared with say an ISD II). The downside is it deals anemic damage. It carriers 2 K-Wings and 5 defenders and counts as a new class vessel. These+ Sacheens can result in a very large amount of defenders which means no TIE 's bug you. Originally appeared in Crackens Threat Dossier for the old D6 RPG. Role carrier.

Nebula Star Destroyer 4/5.
Looks like and Endurance and carries 3 K-Wings and 2 E-Wings. This thing can deal a decent amount of damage but it less of a tank it seems compared with MC 90's and MC 80'b's. Still if you want to make a NR kill fleet in Era 4+ these offer a solution.

First, the ships you quoted were introduced in the Black Fleet Crisis for which (among others) Cracken's Threat Dossier was a complement. Then the fighter complements you mention (except if that changed with 2.2.3 which I did not tested yet) are not the real ones.

Tried it in Admiral. I've got the Knight Hammer on week 5, used it to block Pakrik Minor and built Golan III on the Maw and Hakassi.
Then I secured the Deep Core using the base fleet + heroes. I didn't lose a single ship in that game until the last planet. I tough I could use the asteroid field at my advantage but Harrsk used it in fact and I lost an ISD, Pellaeon and a Strike cruiser. In the meantime, the NR just took space over Kessel but failed to capture ground.

You don't have to fight through EVERY SINGLE PLANET to get to Odik II.  Once you take Hakassi, you then capture the Tsoss Beacon and you're within striking distance of Odik II.

So you can get the Knight Hammer and Cronus without fighting the Delvardus ? Too bad but as Maldrood and Eriadu are now playable factions and most likely to act widely, that's comprehensible.

I should give it a try in Admiral difficulty :)

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Re: New Republic interdictors
« on: April 24, 2018, 02:44:54 AM »
As a mainly New Republic player I can say that I wouldn't mind losing the CC7700.

That being said I do use it and I don't have a strong opinion either way.

Same here. And maybe true for the team too as Corey asked on this topic. But maybe someone will have a good input on that subject.

Looks like the team is leaning more toward gameplay convenience for the players rather than adhering super close to lore here, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Indeed, I agree with you but as Corey asked and consider a change possible, it's probably that the CC-7700 have not much impact on the overall gameplay.

I'm also an old D6 player which was where a lot of the TR stuff originally comes from, the material was supplied to Zahn for Heir to the Empire.

Yes I know. It's not because I know the new stuff that I don't know the old stuff (Rebellion video game, RPG sourcebooks,...) and the genesis of these milestone projects

I have never actually seen it in a legends book or other material (I read a lot not many comics though).

Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor and the other event I mention is from the Essential Guide to Warfare.
