Imperial Civil War Tech Support / overlapping units

Does anyone know why certain units overlap? I had two A-6 juggernauts in a land battle, but couldn't find the second one. Come to find out it was overlapping the first one, in the EXACT same spot...kind of like it was hiding. I've seen this in space battles too with Star Destroyers, but never that bad. Is it a game engine thing? Or a bug that hasn't been addressed yet? Thank!

Question:

I'm not sure when this was changed, but I see that shield generators on Star Destroyers aren't targetable anymore in the latest version of Thrawn's Revenge: ICW. Is there a specific reason for this?

Question--

Not sure if this is appropriate here, but I haven't had much success in other modding forums, so I thought i'd ask these questions:

How do you produce the opening cinematics that play during the opening menu of the games? Where are these stored, and how do they play?

Also, I'm curious about the red "banding" on the models of the star destroyers, etc. that show up in the raid fleets. Are these specific models, or does the scripting or xml somehow determine how the red banding appears on the ships?

I've never had an issue with units locking up or the game freezing. I'm still playing the GOG version. But just for fun, I tried running the defreezer on one of my saved games. The app tells me that the game was unfrozen successfully. But when I try to LOAD the saved game, the whole thing crashes.

So my question is... Does this make sense? Has anyone tried using the defreezer on an saved game that's behaving perfectly? Is it expected that the defreezer will ruin a saved game that wasn't already frozen? Or are there other underlying issues with one of my mods that's causing the defreezer not to work properly?

In the original game, when the probe droids were used to spy on planets, the text SPY would appear on the slot. This doesn't happen anymore. Do you know why this is? Is there a way to make that change?

Slightly off topic, but what are the differences in-game between the three versions? Are there any? I'm using GOG version... am I missing something by not using the Steam version?

This actually happens in ICW2.1, but not as much in 2.2.

Early in the game, whether I'm playing as IE or NR, Zsinj and Trigit for the Warlords are always defeated within the first few weeks of the game. How does this happen? I guess it has something to do with the way the AI plays in the background, but it would seem that an Executor Star Dreadnought would survive a little bit longer than a few weeks.

Is there a way to make them more powerful so I have a chance at actually coming into battle with them at some point?

(FYI, this happens in Art of War, not the campaign specific to Zsinj)

Not sure if this has been addressed, but I probably know the answer.

The faction symbols for IR, NR and EOTH appear on the planet that's controlled by that faction, as well as the fleet boxes that appear.

But for Pentastar, as an example, the faction symbols only appear on the planet, and not the fleet boxes.

Is this something particular to the game engine?

I've attached a file showing an example; the icon would typically appear between the 15 and Tangrene. (I think it's appearing upside down for some reason...sorry!)

Question--

This isn't related to the new version of ICW 2.2, but the old 2.1 version.

I've noticed in the XML files for the Art of War campaign that there are only story plots for Rebel, Empire and Underworld. Perhaps this is a part of the game engine that only allows for three factions to have story plots. So my question is... if I'm playing as the Pentastar Alignment, and I enter Era 3, what happens to Kaine? Will the unit simply disappear now that he's fighting for the Emperor? Or will there be two Kaines in the game?

Just curious...

In the meantime, is it your understanding that increasing the numbers to the righthand side of the comma in the BuildSpaceForcesPlan LUA script will increase the rate at which the AI builds ships, etc.?

Has anyone played around with the AI scripts? I'm trying to find a way to increase the rate at which the AI opponents build capital ships in various mods. Has the Thrawn's Revenge mod already been changed in any way from the normal game in this respect?

I can still build Golan defenses, even if there isn't room for them. Does anyone else have this problem?

Even if both slots on a particular planet are full (in other words, two Golans are already built), you can still build more Golans. Of course, once completed, nothing happens (since there's no more room). Shouldn't the Golan icon on build bar disappear when both slots are full? I'd hate to accidentally build something that I don't need...

Hi all--

I just started playing this mod, so forgive a newbie question.

I'm playing GC multi-era as the Imperial side. It doesn't matter whether I'm on The Art of War, Essence of War, or Imperial Civil War; but I only get five heroes at the start.  Isard, Krennel, Harrsk, Dlarit and Convarion. The other two (Trigit and Rogriss) are not there. Am I missing something? Do the other two appear later?
