Unfortunately, while most of the testing process has been going very smoothly and we've made a lot of headway, some people have started to report save crashes in the beta, so in the interest of making sure the mod is as stable as possible, we have decided to move back release by two weeks to April 12th in order to try to look into it more. We will continue running the beta off of our forums for the time being, so those who do want to help test can do so there.
We're sorry for the delay, but we want to make sure once the release happens, it's as good and smooth as we can make it.

Looking forward to it as a late birthday present! Love the mod and the work you guys have done!

*Sigh* Crap.

Looking forward to it as a late birthday present As well! Love the mod your making here and keep up the work you guys have done!

Shoot. What happens if you get it confirmed fixed before that date?

Well, as much as it kinda sucks to have delays, I appreciate the time and effort put into making sure the release is in better condition. I wish it were a more common thing in game development generally to just be able to say, "Game's getting pushed back, it just ain't ready yet."
Keep up the great work, man.

If they manage to find a fix they'll likely keep the date as April 12th, they'll just be able to polish the mod a bit more.

It's alright, guys, don't sweat it, let Corey and the team make ICW 2.2 the best it can be. You won't be let down, and it's worth the two weeks of wait. ;) We're looking at possibly the greatest space RTS game ever created by mankind. Petroglyph provided a nice enough blueprint, but it's the TR team that made it into the masterpiece it is now. All I can do is just tip my proverbial hat to all of you, people. I'm honored to even hang around this forum occasionally with you guys.

Murphy's law is fun.

Half of me is screaming "NOOO! 2.2 is being delayed!" And the other half is screaming "Woohoo! I get thrawns revenge 2.2 for my birthday!"

Not to mansplain modding to you guys ( :P ), but one thing that is worth looking into is how Steam responds weirdly to UAC in Win 7/8/10, even if you disable UAC. I used to get serious crashes in other mods (most notably for Medieval II: Total War) when I had Steam installed in Program Files - moving Steam into the base C:\ directory instead fixed a significant amount of glitchiness, random crashes, and savegames failing to load for me.
Anyway! Huge fan of the mod, and good luck :)

This isn't that, and that doesn't seem to be an issue with EaW- it's an engine bug, we've spoken to Petroglyph and provided them with the information on it, it'll take a patch from them to fix it, but they now know exactly what the problem is.

This has always been one of the most professional mods I've seen, and taking the hard choice to delay for the sake of better quality only showcases that professionalism. Keep it up, and good luck!

Well folks, Empire Day is tomorrow. Are you ready for a project four years in the making?

I saw a new post in this thread and basically thought "Oh no, you've got to be kidding."

It will take as long as it takes. I'd happily wait as long as necessary. *shrugs* In the end it will be worth it!
