Title: Crime syndicates
Post by: Rogue66X on February 11, 2018, 01:26:51 PM
Will there be any crime organizations running around on the map at all in this mod.

It’s no secret that criminal underworld was active during the war and they profited greatly from it.

It would be nice to see the black sun or the huts added into the game (non playable factions)

It’s known that the hutts allowed the republic to use there space to move troops so you probably pass through there territory peacefully

If there not added as factions maybe they could be something like the corporations and if you build one you get a bonus to income.

I think it would be pretty cool if there's a GC where you lead the Criminal Underworld as Darth Maul and Savage Opress.

That’s a bit far fetched they would be stomped due there small roster

Does the game engine even allow more factions to be added?

This is very plausable for it to be added since they more or less united the crime of the galaxy, and mandalorians could be included in this as well.

In ICW, we have 8 playable factions and several non-playables, FotR would never reach anywhere near as many as ICW so I'd say we're safe.

I wouldn't see it being super viable as they'd never have the strength to take over the entire galaxy (usually the main idea for the mod), and making the goal to only do a small part wouldn't be that fun I think

My General idea for how this would work is like a story based GC were it would be like how the entire Darth Maul and Savage Opress Clone Wars Story Arc happened.
First, you'd start off with just Maul and Savage who had just allied themselves with Clan Pre Vizsla and the rest of Death Watch (you'd be given basic Mandolorian warriors and Tech (I.E. Mandolorian troopers (have the ability to use a jet pack) whatever is the equivalent to rocket troopers/PLEX-Missile Soldiers, Mandolorian Vehicles, then their Star-Fighters and heroes.)
Then as you start conquering planets, you get a pop up message of Pre Vizsla saying that you need to get the Black Sun to join you and in order to do that, you need to capture the planet with Maul and Savage and some Ground Troops. Once you've done that you'll have gained access to Black Sun ground troops, vehicles, tech, and space units along with their heroes.
And then after having conquered a few more planets and fighting off BOTH the Republic and CIS forces, Pre Vizsla will come up again in another pop-up saying that the Pyke Syndicate are offering to join your cause if you met them at a certain planet, which is somewhere inside CIS or Republic Territory and you have to build up a space force to get to that planet (unless already conquered the planet, you have) and by then, the Pyke Syndicate (you gain their Troops, Vehicles, Space units, heroes, all that good Jazz) will be under your control and you will have Formed the Shadow Collective and then you just have to eliminate the Republic and the CIS in order to win the game/Galactic Conquest.

Sorry this is a long post, but here's my story Idea. It can be used if needed in FoTR (which it probably won't but it was worth a shot) or turned into a Sub-Mod, I don't care just as long as you credit me in the Sub-Mod (FoTR doesn't need to credit me, the honor will have been mine).

What's to stop the CIS/GAR from crushing you very early in the campaign?

Just stop with the mail thing, there’s no way they would be added to the game they wouldn’t have any ships besides a few fighters and there transport ships; They would be swamped within a few days.
Their roster for ground units would be next to nothing since all their troops are super commados, they don’t have any vehicles either

The only way I see anything being added for the death watch is if you conquer mandalore you get access to deathwatch super commandos and some fighters; that’s it

I'm sure there would be some way to implement Tech from FOC and The EAW Remake Mod into FoTR, after all, the Kandosii-Class Dreadnought was used before the Clone wars and they along with some other support ships provided by the Black Sun and the OP Star-Fighters that the Pyke Syndicate and Death Watch had would be put to good use as pretty sizable fleets!
Yes, starting off would be hugely difficult, but if you spend your credits wisely, I'm sure there would be a way to get by in the first several weeks. I would've suggested that they would have a little support from the CIS because they did in the past, but I shot down that Idea because it was before Death Watch aligned itself with the Shadow Collective.
Anyways, while this idea would've been too good to be true to become reality, I gave it my best shot and I'm happy with my Idea. And thinking about it, it'd probably only be playable in the Easy setting but hey! Ya win some, ya lose some!

The kandosii will never be used because it is ancient and wouldn’t be realistic
