Title: The Million Dollar First Order question.
Post by: Illidan Stormrage on September 10, 2017, 09:46:49 PM
How does the First Order have everything it has?
The weapons? The Manpower? The Starships? The Superweapons? The funding?

My guess is maybe the first order has something similar to the Starforge.

Obviously the Unknown Regions were full of fertile material rich worlds where they could have Nazi sex rites (Hitler's brides much?) and extract a crap ton of dura steel to build a fleet the same amount as the old Empire but everything is twice the size! After all the Unknown Regions were just empty pieces of space no one had bothered to go into and not full of "a hundred different horrors that would cause your blood to freeze if you knew about them."

By the way as your former username General Grevious?

Yeah but now I change it for fun, again...

But I mean it has been stated that the group is smaller than them Empire, and we don't how many humans live in the Unknown Regions.
However we do know that Phasma was recruited along with most of the First Order(which I think is bullshit it contdicts Finn's Existence)
We also know Rae Sloane was dead by them time of Phasma's arrival in the First Order.
Ohh and The First Order has Nuclear Weapons according to Brenadall Hux

Plot Ressources/Reasons combined with Jar Jar Abrams Start and Disney makes a powerful and completly ridiculous combination.
There is no other Explanation than: It looks cool and they want Mega-Super-Ultra-Stardestroyers because they look cool. (It is double on purpose)

I doubt they'll bring back the Starforge, but possibly something like it. Snoke is evidently very rich so that would explain it a little. I'm guessing he was in the Unknown regions waiting to fill the power vacuum left by Palpatine's death.

None of it makes sense. At least in the old EU it always elaborated on how scarce resources were for even Warlords like Zsinj and Kaine. Upkeep of a single ISDII is insanely expensive and an SSD is a logistical nightmare for it's owner, much less a planet sized weapon system tunneled out of a planet's crust.

The logistics, manpower and cost of these weapons is staggering and full of contradictions and plot holes bigger than a supernova.

It doesn't have to make sense I guess :P, it also always bothered me that the Empire established themselves in such force and in such a short period of time after the clone wars, they could have at least added some years to it to make it more believable... meh, and who knows, maybe they found resources or allies in the outer rim or in wild space. But I wouldn't count on them ever clearing that up, it's the magic trick every evil empire ever had - unlimited resources and manpower despite being hated like nothing else ;>.

They did take half a year to reequip the Stormtroopers and reconguer the rim, and public support for the Empire was kinda high.

The new canon explains how they kinda came about. They had a lot of support and also were part of the NR senate. The overall story between the episodes is actually pretty interesting. I will admit the execution was poor. I also think the NR was significantly smaller than the empire and the republic.

Edit: To each their own though

Yeah, but accomplishing all that and people referring to the republic like some old myth and overall treating the Empire like they were abused over generations still kinda feels cramped together considering they only had about 20 years to do all that. Also e.g. Obi Wan and Yoda aging like hell within that time, I mean they could have at least put 20-30 years on top of that, would make it way more believable ;>. Don't wanna hate on anything, just my opinion, don't get me wrong :).
