Disney and Petro have just published a patch for the Steam version of Eaw re-enabling multiplayer and adding workshop support. We're still looking into getting everything sorted mod-wise for it, but for now there is one rather major issue we're aware of. Because of shader issues, the Demo currently has rendering issues. If you go into ICW22Demo/Data/Art and delete the shaders folder, it should be resolved.
They did include a fix for the selection freeze, which means you no longer need the Defreezer.

hooray! Finally! Are the planning to do a canon version of the game and fix some other issues?

I could maybe see some bug fixes but I doubt they'll make a canon version of the game.

This is Disney we are talking about. They want everything to be THEIR Cannon

Regardless, I highly doubt they would make a canon version of a mediocre 2006 game.

This could open up entire worlds(or should I say GCs) of possibilities

or a Valley of Jedi To open. and a Vengeance to voice act for.
I hope this means it going to be a better time making A mod for Empire at war now. I do hope this means making Thrawnrevenge will be easyer.

So is this just for the steam version? What of those of us who have it on CD?

Isn't there is an option like "add a non-steam game to your library" where you need the CD key ?

I suspect we will have to keep using the defreezer. Hopefully the TR team will continue to consider us in their plans.

Petroglyph has said they're hoping they can do it for the other versions of the game as well. For non-Steam users, you really just have to keep the defreezer (we won't be removing it from anywhere)- everything else should be the same. There may be some GCs where we take advantage of the selection fix to add some more content/events, which may mean some people need to use it more often, but unless the fix becomes universal we won't lean into that too much.
