Hello,
Is there anything I can do in the game settings to make Ascendancy run better on a slower computer? I keep getting severe lag mid to late game, especially on 6 player maps. I can't even try the largest Galaxies.
I want the epic SOASE battles without the epic SOASE Lag.

Not really, all you can really do is try to reduce fleet sizes. SoaSE lag comes primarily from CPU tracking all the entities (especially fighters).

There are some thing you can do that may help slightly in sins, under the options you can turn various items off such as the tactical grid etc which may allay some performance issues, you can find a lot of these options under the settings pane and some trial and error etc however as Corey noted sins is very CPU intensive so really look at what else may be hitting your CPU, for example are there other programs utilising CPU unnecesarily on your rig etc :)
