As we've said, we're updating some of the art content and maybe adding some units in the upcoming patch while the gameplay changes are in beta. So, here's the new Strike Cruiser in Imperial Civil War.

Always liked Strike Cruisers, so glad to see they are getting upgraded.

Yeah, the Strike Cruiser has always had a place in my heart. Not the most powerful, but a darn good value for what it brings to the table.

The Assault Frigate is one of the oldest models in the mod, having been made in 2006 (fun fact) but rather than completely redo it like the Strike Cruiser, we thought it only needed a new texture. We also did some mesh optimization to reduce the poly count, which should result in both looking and performing better.

I'm glad you've changed it's appearance it was starting to look quite dull.

Looks awesome. I always kinda wondered about the odd disconnect between some of the ship arts, why some were so detailed and others not so much.

Definitely one of my favorite ships from the Rebels. Good to see it's looking better.

The mod is 8 years old, and has art from all over that period. This is the first project for most of us as well, so a lot of it was done when we were still learning how to do stuff. It's also been made by different people with different skill levels; the Assault Frigate model is older, but it was made by somebody who joined the mod in 2006 with a lot more experience, while the old skin was made by Codeuser when he was pretty new so there's a pretty big disparity there. Most of the art we've done in the last three years for ICW and even Ascendancy has been remodelling/reskinning old stuff.

Perhaps a reskin (or even remodel) of the Modular Taskforce Cruiser?
I personally always thought it resembled a giant space pancake, rather than a ship.

We may think about it eventually, but it's not high on the list. It's a stupid design, but it does look how it's supposed to.

Everything looks great, I'm just looking forward for 2.2 hahaha but so far I'll conquer the galaxy with 2.1
