The Future of Imperial Civil War
As we've said in the past, 2.1 will be the final full version of Thrawn's Revenge: Imperial Civil War. That being said, we still intend to support and release some updates for the mod. This will include a few new units, as well as some visual reworks which will hopefully also help to improve performance. At the moment, this is scheduled to include units like the Consen Dropship for the Empire of the Hand, and redone versions of the Bothan Assault Cruiser, new Shipyard skins, and a few other things. Once we have more feedback on Survival mode, we'd also like to update the map for it and release a version of it for the Pentastar Alignment, as well as include a version of the Imperial Civil War GC scenario for the New Republic (we originally intended to with the initial 2.1 release, but the New Republic refuses to play nice with the story scripts).

Our main focus going forward is going to be for our Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion mod, Star Wars: Ascendancy (http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-ascendancy), which will be the source of our updated models. I know this will come as a disappointment to some people considering several of those people have sent me messages to insult me for it, but the addition of mountains of new units or factions at this point would hinder basic game functionality, and the mod is already pretty massive. With these updates, while we will be trying to flesh out some areas which may be lacking or add what makes sense, our main goals will be to polish what is there. We feel we've essentially accomplished the core of what we set out to do with ICW and are ready for some change.

I would personally like to thank the amazing team I've been lucky enough to be a part of for the last 8 years for their hard work, as well as the outspoken and dedicated fanbase who has supported us throughout development. I'm looking forward to working with all of you to polish ICW and to launch Ascendancy!

The Zip version was removed because it did not upload properly. You can use the installer version however: http://www.moddb.com/mods/thrawns-revenge/downloads/imperial-civil-war-21-installer

Hello, wondering if desura Downloader has been updated too 2.1 yet or if only the mirror's work at this point? Nothing new is coming up when I uninstall it and then reinstall from it.

Desura requires an entirely different process, it hasn't been done yet.

Do you have a time-table for when that will be up, or should I check back in two days?

Desura provides absolutely no documentation on how we're supposed to use their service, so it'll be up whenever I can figure it out, upload the mod again and get it approved. I have absolutely no idea, however I do want to take tonight off so the absolute earliest is tomorrow night.

The installer isn't working for me.  When I attempt to run it, the entire computer either freezes completely, or gets slowed down to an unbearable degree.

Actually that happened to me. It seemed to lock up for about a minute, and then the installation went on as it should.

Works though if I copy it to my desktop and run it from there.  Just hates running from my USB for some reason.  Whatever...got it to install.

Gotta ask what is so different about uploading it through/too Desura compared too MOB?

With Desura you can either upload it as a seperate build all on its own, or use the MCF creator thing to look for version differences between the current build and the new build, which then creates and uploads a patching file. We're going with the latter because the differences between 2.0 and 2.1 aren't as big as between previous versions (which have essentially been entire reworks). The only difficulty was making sure it got the right folders for everything, but it *seems* to be checking out, just gotta wait for them to authorize it.

I'm sure some of you are saying "but Corey, doesn't that mean you could have done a patch to get from 2.0 to 2.1." Technically yes, however the more installers you pile on, the more chances for the patch maker I have to screw up. Desura is version controlled, so it always knows EXACTLY what it's going from and to and can automatically fix any issues, whereas with the standalones there's always the chance that there's one file different, and then the patch won't work and people would have to redownload everything, an install up through 2.0 -> Hotfix 1 -> Hotfix 2 -> 2.1. So we'd also need to have a standalone version of 2.1 in both ZIP and installer to accommodate new players as well, which gets confusing and clutters things up.

In survival mode is your starting units the only units you can have?

I can upgrade the various ships from the ship yard but can't actually build anything.
Title: Re: Imperial Civil War 2.1 Released!

No. It is possible to get other ships. It's a little confusing at first. During the combat phase, you can build your ships. When you build, it's not upgrading. The only time you can place ships is in between combat phases/waves. I prefer to pause the game to give me enough time to place all the units I need. When a wave is over, the reinforcements button pops up and then you can click it and let loose all that you have. Hope this helps!

Yeah, it's pretty confusing the first tiem you do it, but if you do like Darman suggested and pause in order to post your reinforcements between waves, it's pretty easy.
